Zebras are very unique

Did you know???

No two zebras have the same stripe pattern. Researchers use stripe-recognition software the same way humans use fingerprint ID.

Their alternating black and white stripes create tiny convection currents that help cool their bodies in the African heat.

Biting flies struggle to land on striped patterns; the stripes disrupt their depth perception.

A zebra can kick hard enough to break a lion’s jaw. They’re prey animals, but they’re not pushovers.

Some herds migrate over 300 miles each year, making it one of the longest land migrations in Africa.

Fun animal fact of the day!

Green iguanas

Green iguanas can survive 40–50 feet falls because they use their long tails and loose skin folds to aerodynamically stabilize themselves as they drop. They basically parachute off trees.

They are vegetarians eating greens like turnip or mustard greens many peppers or beans too

They are also good swimmers they can hold there breath for up to 30 mins that’s for sure way longer than I can 🙂

We do have a a couple green iguanas some reds and even a blue iguana in store check them out in the reptile room we are open till 5pm see you soon

Opossums have a superpower immune system — they’re naturally resistant to most snake venom, including rattlesnakes and copperheads. Their bodies produce a special peptide that neutralizes the toxins, which is why they can shrug off bites that would be deadly to other animals.

They’re also tick‑destroying machines: a single possum can eat up to 5,000 ticks a season, making them quiet little guardians of the woods.

A fun rat fact that always surprises people:
