Dogs ‘N Action - DNA Permanently closed. Hi! I’m Teresa,
Welcome to
DNA! I am a certified evaluator for AKC CGC, CGCA, CGCU, Trick Dog and VHM. Thanks for visiting!

I am certified with IAABC (International Association of Behavior Consultants) Accredited Dog Trainer and a member of APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers) PPG (Pet Professional Guild) and recently completed The Aggression in Dogs Conference. I began in agility, but my path expanded to behavior, obedience, household manners, loose leash and my education continues. I have many accreditation’s and I continue to stay current with seminars and classes so I can be the best trainer and coach I can be. Dog training is unregulated, which means anyone can claim to be a “dog trainer”. Ask questions, ask about their education, ask about the last seminar or class they’ve taken, ask about their training philosophy, avoid “balanced” trainers, they are out dated and under-educated. Find a qualified and educated local trainer. If you’re struggling to understand your dog, please reach out. I am here to help owners and dogs have a better life together.

Research published in Frontiers in Veterinary Science sheds light on the differing viewpoints of American reward-based and aversive trainers. Of particular interest, the reward-based trainers in the study had previously used aversives and crossed over, sometimes as a gradual process and sometimes with an "aha" moment. Read about it in the piece on Psych Today.
