Dear Horse Rescue Enthusiasts:

Did you know that the number 1 reason horses need rescue is because of people's lack commitment? Definitely not the only, but the number 1.

Most folks think 🤔 that horses need to be rescued from horrible situations only.

NOPE!

Folks mistreat, misunderstand, and neglect their horses all day, every day, because of one reason.

The horse’s needs, wants, or desires weren’t considered 🤔
Due to lack of heart, or understanding.

Many horse owners purchase horses for self serving reasons, and when those horses don’t fulfill their needs, how the person had anticipated, then the horse just lost it’s value, and is no longer worth their time, money, or effort.

Every thing I do here, is to open up the eyes of humanity, so we can all search our hearts daily to make sure our motives honor horses and others.

We all do understand clearly how to consider ourselves.🎉

❤️‍🩹I asked the teen drill team kids on Saturday, what was the difference between a team sport and individual sport.

❤️‍🩹Their answer was spot on.

“Team sports are not about us. It’s about putting the whole team’s needs, and goals above our own. Individual sports are only about us.”
Amelia

Bravo Amelia 🎉

Akya- Spoke as well in her words saying almost the same thing.

Emily-Agreed in her words.

Adalaide-Agreed in her words.

❤️‍🩹I told these 4 kids that I was adding to their long list of desired goals, stepping up and helping each other in our practices, when needed.

❤️‍🩹Understand Drill Team is the only vehicle outside of Homeschool group, that dives deep into learning skills that create the hearts of champions and develops character like no other program I offer.

❤️‍🩹Volunteering is a gift that teaches everyone about the importance of doing what’s right.

❤️‍🩹I don’t allow others to volunteer to make my world easier.

❤️‍🩹Volunteers cost me time, money, and a lot of effort, and many folks don’t continue volunteering until they become an asset.

❤️‍🩹I allow folks to volunteer because, it helps me sleep at night knowing maybe, just maybe, someone will care enough to show up every day for their horse, their child, their marriage , their family, etc.

❤️‍🩹Did you know that my reality is, that I work 90 plus hours per week to pay for horses, that I use to help teach others how to consider others?

❤️‍🩹Then I use those funds to keep the doors open, so I can help more folks, in hopes that one day I can actually sleep 😴, because the world seems a little more considerate.

❤️‍🩹I cut my cost 💲 so that kid’s parents could afford to bring them. Children should be around horses, if that’s what’s in their heart to do.

❤️‍🩹I did a survey and when asked what Homeschoolers could afford comfortably it was $35 per lesson before Covid.

❤️‍🩹Since Covid that number has dropped for many.

❤️‍🩹When I leave my house to teach folks with horses, I normally charge a minimum of $150.00 per hour. People who own horses, and made a commitment to their horse, realize the value of information that works!

❤️‍🩹I don’t teach only riding lessons. I teach folks the secrets about horsemanship (which encompasses everything) that took me 40 years to discover.
Everything I teach off the horse is as valuable, if not more valuable, than what I teach folks on the horse.
I told the kids on Saturday, that if I taught folks how to work with horses on the ground first, for one year, the learning process of riding would be shortened tremendously.
Everything we do off the horse, is to improve our experience and relationship on the horse. Pushing a wheel barrel increases our riding skills.

Here’s a small list of some of my former instructors:

Mary Wanless-UK
Sally Swift-USA
Reiner Klimke - Germany
Colonial Albreight Von Ziegner-Germany
Karl Micolka-Spanish Riding School (Most Elite Dressage Training Facility in the world)
They do not compromise the horse for a performance 🎭 They only train horses for Drill Team Performances in their school.

❤️‍🩹When my students dedicate themselves to the process, (years later) they can train any horse from any situation.

❤️‍🩹They could manage a horse farm, write books, rescue horses successfully, do horse therapy, and etc.

How do I know?

❤️‍🩹That’s what my former and current students do. The ones who dedicated themselves to the process.
My former and current students of over 4 years are:
Managers, Animal and Human Therapist, or activist in their community.

❤️‍🩹I currently have a student making a collage of all of her Drill Team T-Shirts.

❤️‍🩹Why am I saying all this?
Because, unless you are a student of mine for many years, this information may not be at the forefront of what your mind allows you to see goes on here.

❤️‍🩹This is a partial email that was sent to my Drill Team family. After hearing back from one of the mom's about how much she appreciated my honesty, and another thanking me for giving out information that caused her to pause and contemplate, I thought maybe I should share here.

❤️‍🩹Here's a photo of Snowflake. What did he do so wrong that he ended up in a killpen? NO horse deserves the kill pen experience!!

❤️‍🩹Now he spends his days teaching folks how to consider him first, instead of not being considered at all🎉

❤️‍🩹But, did you know 1,000's of horses go to Kill Pens every week? Why?

❤️‍🩹Start at the beginning and read this until it sinks in 100%

Thank you for your support,
Michelle ❤️‍🩹

Meet Abby, Asher’s sister.
Abby started out being unsure of the whole horse thing, a few years back. She agreed to grooming and groundwork sessions only. (Smart girl)
Then she decided to try riding. Today, 3 seasons later, she’s on the Kid’s Drill Team, and she’s a very diligent learner.
I told her yesterday, that I could see her thinking 🤔 very hard.
So, once I shot a video, which is where I got this photo from, I told her to try to add one new concept, “use her reigns softer than she already was.”
You see, when we feel the strength of a horse, often our first defense is to use more strength. That often, creates a power battle with our horses. We will never fare well with power battles with horses.
The unusual way is to do the opposite. I learned in the 80’s the softer I became, in my hands and upper body, (in an intentional way) very specific and timing spot on, the softer my horse becomes.
Abby, instantly saw a difference in his softness, when she changed her approach.
I’m so proud of everyone who keeps showing up, allowing themselves the opportunity of becoming something that makes a horse feel comfortable, confident, and loved!
🥰 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Kutos to Abby for wanting more practice❤️‍🔥

Here’s Asher, one of Kim’s sons. I asked her if I could share some pictures of her family. She, smiled and said yes.
This is Asher’s 3rd summer. When he first started coming, if he spoke, I could barely hear him, now he never stops talking.
I asked him to stand up in the stirrups, because unbeknownst to him, he’s a stunt rider in the makings. He replied with, “Like this?”
Me, “yes!😃”
Then I asked him if he could stand until we reached my mailbox, 1/4 mile ride?
He said, “O.k.”
During his ride he spoke to me the entire time. He asked loads of questions about Snowflake, and gave me more descriptive scenarios, than I thought he was capable of. All were about Snowflake.❄️
He told me that horses seem much larger than they are, because once you get on them, they seem to be much more normal in size, and not as scary.
I told him he was very accurate in his deductive reasoning. (Of course I spoke on his terms)
I explained that once we sit on the back of a horse, and sit or stand in balance well, they are not scary at all.
We let Snowflake eat grass on the way back, then he concurred that having the horses eat down a new trail was better than a lawn mower🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I absolutely love hearing the ideas from children!
They truly could rule the world 🌎 much better than any adult 🙏
The ones with hearts like Asher of course 😉

I’m blessed with amazing students, and their parents🎉❤️‍🔥
Here’s Kim, a mom who started a couple of years ago bringing her kids here every week when the weather allowed.
Tonight she babysat Sirius, as he ate grass, while I worked with her daughter Abby.
Over the past year Kim’s volunteered with therapy classes, took some lessons, fed the horses, did odd horse chores, picked up grain, helped with Fundraisers, and pretty much anything that she can do.
I asked her if Sirius was hard to watch, and we just both laughed 😃🤣😂🤣
He IS a beautiful, amazing, easy guy, whom I love dearly 🥰
Enjoy your evening 🎉

A mom joined the Drill Team, because of her passion for horses, and wanting to do something with her daughters.
In addition to all the horsemanship and riding skills, everyone has to practice horse braiding, we’re practicing at every practice to increase our skill level and speed 😃
