IN THE WORK, LESSONS FROM THE HORSES — 16 ❤️🔥
Asking another being to grow, transform, be a curious and willing learner, to work hard on developing skills and understanding of their bodies, the sport, and the human, requires that of the requester as well.
Whenever I feel stuck, lost, confused, mistrusting of my own body or mind, or unfulfilled, the answer isn't doing more during the day -- that has taken a long time for me to grasp.
It's at night or in the morning. In the stillness, the reconnection to my intuition and heart, reconnection to my body through journaling, doing yoga, working out, or reading or listening to some inspirational work, or writing, perhaps sitting with the rain or sunset without distraction.
I witness this benefit the horses in my life in real time. When I lose my rhythm and I turn to the things I've learned over the years helps me, I show up with more presence, intention, grace, confidence, and curiosity. I slow down more with each horse or between horses, setting myself up to be a better version of myself at the end of the rope or reins.
