🍁Fall Fest 2026🍁
I have no words.
That’s a lie. If you know me or have “popped in for a quick treat for your dog” and got stuck talking to me, I’m never at a loss for words. 😬
I am overwhelmed by all the love and support from my girls ~Jenna, Jaylynn & Madi, my family, this community and my customers, who sometimes literally drag their owners to my shop.🐾 🤭
This was my first ever event with both Lucky Mutts Bakery and Lucky Mutts Pawtery. I’ve said it before, I thrive on organized chaos.
I really do.
Fall Fest this year was a whole other level of stress and anxiety. From issues with the event itself, showcasing my art for the first time to an enormous potential customer base and all the critics that come with it, to the everyday workings of the bakery, creating and sometimes failing miserably at pottery and then having to navigate the continuing emotional landscape of caring for my Mother, it was all a lot. You may have noticed my page has been pretty quiet the last few months and all this is part of the reason.
If I am going to be completely honest, I do not believe I baked one single treat that was made for the shop in the past few months or for Fall Fest. That was ALL Jenna and Jaylynn. ALL of it! Poor Jaylynn for having to cut out one-by-one, thousands of Cheesy and Peanut Butter Bites. 🥴 So sorry kiddo.❤️
Ice cream, yogurt candies, treats, cupcakes, cakes…ALL of it was made and baked by those two.
Madi kind of just got thrown into my crazy life through default. When you date my son, you get me as an added bonus! Just kidding. She actually volunteered for all of this!🤪
Because of them, I was able to focus on my pottery, my cake decorating, the million little things that go into owning a business and then participating in the single biggest day of the year for us.
Jenna was also a very crucial part of the ideas, making decisions and absolutely delivered on all of them! Might I remind you all she is ONLY 17 years old. SEVENTEEN! I have NEVER felt as if I was working side-by-side with a kid. She may have felt that way, but that’s a whole other story. 😂
She is filled with creativity, intelligence and is just an amazing, beautiful human being! I can already see how successful her future is going to be! ❤️
I must give a gigantic ❤️THANK YOU❤️ to my other half, Josh. He always does all the heavy lifting (same goes for Hunter) prep work and tear down. He wasn’t suppose to “work” Fall Fest this year for the first time, but when he saw my first piece of pottery sold, he said he just had to stay to see all of my pieces that were picked for purchase and the reactions from those who stopped by our booth.
He is always there supporting me in every way, every single day. His presence throughout this journey of owning my business and finding myself again through the use of clay and glazes, is appreciated beyond words. It only took me 50-ish years to find a hobby I truly love. 😬😂.
I think most importantly, his care for my Mom is waaay beyond anything I could have ever asked or hoped for and shows who is as a man. Thanks Babe! 🥰
Thank you to the city of Oconomowoc. I have spent my entire life here. I LOVE this place and the support they have given us. There is no other place I would rather be. ❤️
And finally, to our customers.
Thank you.❤️
Without you all, there is no reason to do any of this. The kisses and tail wags are what I live for. 😉
The constant support, positivity and encouragement from the humans is a super awesome added bonus. 😂
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
We have a bunch of fun stuff we are working on for both the bakery and pottery.
There is a new business that is being worked on by my AWESOME friend and business neighbor Sarah at Hamer Visuals that will showcase my pottery, along with other artisans. I am super excited for this one! Keep an eye out for the CRE8IVE Collective.
Oh, I almost forgot a big THANK YOU to Sarah (and her hubby Zach) for the support, encouragement and positivity! When you have someone who is so crazy talented complimenting you and your art, wow, it fills me with indescribable self-confidence. ❤️ I need that desperately.
If you finished reading this,
Thank you. Thank you all for giving me purpose. 🐾❤️🏺
