Spay Neuter Impact Project

10/13/2026

Something pretty big happened over the weekend! SNIP turned 7 years old!

It is overwhelming to stop and really look at what has grown from a little seedling of an idea about 8 years ago to this incredible, passionate, mission-oriented staff producing over 10,000 spays and neuters per year, all with the support of an equally incredible community! THANK YOU for coming along this wild ride with us!

If you want to help us celebrate, consider donating to the givebutter fundraising campaign organized by Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter pets (givebutter.com/SNIP_expansion) or purchasing an item from our Amazon wishlist (https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/VBE1LMX4AUXM?ref_=wl_share). Every bit gets us closer to being able to help MORE!

From the very bottoms of our very grateful hearts, we thank all of your for your ongoing and steadfast support!!

🎉 SNIP IS TURNING 7!!! 🎉

Seven years. More than 57,000 surgeries. And we’re just getting started!

When we started SNIP, the goal was simple: provide affordable, accessible spay and neuter services and do as much as we possibly could to help reduce pet overpopulation in our community.

And now, seven years later, we’ve outgrown our space. So we’re expanding! 🥳

Between SNIP’s own investment and fundraising, and the incredible generosity of our community, almost $20,000 in equipment and renovations have already been purchased, paid for or donated.

We have additional surgical and prep equipment, operating tables, kennel banks, anesthesia machines, an autoclave, an oxygen generator, and a whole lot of other pieces that will allow us to increase our capacity.

We are SO close.

We currently have about $11,000 left to finish the job — including a commercial washer and dryer, additional surgical instruments and packs, and all of those smaller things that are easy to overlook but necessary to turn an empty space into a functioning surgical facility.

And really y’all, what better way to celebrate 7 years of SNIP than to help us get this space finished and ready to go?

If SNIP has ever helped you, your pets, your rescue, your shelter, a stray cat, a community cat colony — or if you simply believe that affordable spay/neuter is an important part of solving pet overpopulation… this is a chance to help us do even more.

Seven years. 57,000+ surgeries. Let’s see what we can do next!

Wooooow!!! We don’t even have a grand total yet but we do know we raised OVER $2700!!! Again, huge shout out to Wendy's Prints For Paws for taking on the lion’s share of the organizing, not to mention the pet photography! The bakers, crafters, clients and patrons that have all contributed, we couldn’t do it without you! And we look forward to giving it back to the community by helping MORE once we have our new extra space set up!!

If you missed the event, you can still support us here! GiveButter.com/SNIP_expansion Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter pets is helping us fundraise, it was a big goal and a big dream, and we really are getting there!!

IT’S SO EXCITING!!!!!

Two very important items for your immediate attention! First, we will be unable to accommodate feral cats for surgery next week, 10/6 and 10/7. As always, we apologize for any inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding!

Also, we are SO GLAD that non-Jackson County residents have made the most of the $25 surgery special made possible by C.A.R.E. and the Bissell Pet Foundation. However, that means we have exhausted those funds for the moment! For now, non-JC pet cats will return to our normal surgery pricing of $50, vaccines and microchip not included.

We wish we could just do all the things for all the people and all the pets all the time, and we sure try! We will continue to endeavor to secure funding to keep our low prices even lower.

Thank you all so sincerely for the ongoing support! To donate to our fundraising campaign to expand the clinic and help MORE, visit givebutter.com/SNIP_expansion. We are partnering with Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets to raise funds for the equipment and supplies needed to accommodate more surgeries sooner!

Thank you all!!!

O. M. G. y’all. Today reminded us WHY we are working so hard to raise funds to expand…. We did 99 surgeries today!

That being said, we did NOT manage to get the final tally for what the event brought in this weekend. But we didn’t want to delay any longer expressing our endless gratitude to every person who graciously used their time and talents to support this event and be a part of something even bigger for us and the community…. Our expansion!

First and foremost, none of this would have ever happened without Wendy's Prints For Paws photography gifts and all the time she spent coordinating bakers! While we were drowning in surgeries, she knocked out all of the organization and planning!

Now, the ladies that provided all the incredible baked goods….. WOW. So many delicious things, so many gorgeous things, just so much support! For little old us??? We are blown away!

Good Karma Bread Co., your sourdough doesn’t leave ANYONE feeling sour 🤩. Made With Love By Claudia provided a totally gourmet take on the classic cake pop. Sweethearts Bakery (Cassie Triplett) brought some seriously on point seasonal cupcakes. Thank you for bringing a bit of your business to ours, and helping make this event more than your average bake sale!

Those were the businesses but man, some of you other ladies ought to consider dipping your toes in the professional baking world too! Lindsey Joyner, Christa, Mike and Tee, Patty Blake, Gina, Carlet, Patricia Marie Smith, Melanie Hawkins, Jennifer Harris, Angela’s mom… thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! And if we missed ANYONE, it’s not because you aren’t so appreciated! It’s because our brains and bodies are fried 🤪. We appreciate ALL OF YOU!!!

To Sydney Springs and the SNIP staff that lent your crafty talents to the silent auction, thank you for your dedication and investment in everything we have done thus far and everything we are building toward!

And finally, big thank you to Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter pets for partnering with us in order to raise the funds needed to see this new vision through!

Tomorrow we will have the final tally of funds raised and we will share that and some highlights from the event! We can’t wait to do this again!!!!
