A Personal Announcement from The Grooming Garage

It is with a very heavy heart that I announce The Grooming Garage will be temporarily ceasing operations for the next couple of days as I navigate the loss of two immediate family members.

Many of you know that I recently lost my grandmother. Her passing was something we had been preparing for, but I have now suffered another loss that was completely unexpected.

I lost Ryan.

Ryan was my cousin, but we were raised so closely, but as adults we were more like siblings. He was also a huge part of The Grooming Garage and the reason so much of what you see here exists today.

Ryan helped build this facility from the ground up. He put his hands, hard work, and heart into creating the shop that so many of you and your beloved dogs have come to know. He also served as our Director of Boarding during our first year of operation.

Many of you will remember Ryan with his little dog Kush and his beautiful black Lab, Sadie.

He wasn't just someone who helped build my business. He was family, he was my brother in every way that mattered, and he will forever be part of the foundation of The Grooming Garage.

Losing two people I love in such a short period of time has been incredibly difficult, and I need a little time to process these losses and be with my family.

I sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and kindness as we temporarily close our doors. We will resume operations as soon as possible and will communicate any necessary scheduling changes.

Thank you for allowing me this time to grieve.

Going to Dog-O-Rama this weekend? Don't forget you can do some practicing at Bucky's Place Arena right outside the building in our parking area ❤️. Bucky's place is open only to Grooming Garage clients with vaccines on file with us. It is free to use, please pick up after yourself and do not leave food or treats behind:-)

We have officially returned from SuperZoo!

We came home with lots of new education, fresh ideas, new insights, and plenty of things we’re excited to bring back to The Grooming Garage.

We are, however, running a little slower than usual getting back to everyone right now. Dodie has had a family emergency, and Shasta managed to come home with a sprained ankle.

And Dawnya?

Dawnya is completely fine.

Suspiciously fine.

Apparently someone had to return from Vegas without an injury, emergency, or dramatic plot twist, and for once, Dawnya drew the winning straw.

So please bear with our slightly limping, slightly chaotic little crew while we get caught back up. We promise we are working through messages, calls, and scheduling as quickly as we can.

Thank you so much for your patience, kindness, and continued support. We had an amazing and educational trip, and we’re very happy to be home!

RSVP ASAP! You can come by the shop and sign up, or RSVP on the event. How exciting for all of us!

💙 Reminder to everyone that we are closed tomorrow (Monday July 6th) to allow dogs who have issues with fireworks a day of recovery!
Bucky says he's exhausted! Still hearing fireworks tonight.

Back from Montana after celebrating Violet’s graduation and spending some much needed time with my daughters Cheyenne and Violet, along with my mom.

We are incredibly proud over here at The Grooming Garage of our Violet. Many of you remember her from the early days when the shop was still at my home and she was our little receptionist helping greet clients at the new location. Watching her grow into the woman she has become has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

Now it’s back to reality and I’ll be playing catch up all week with appointments and messages.

Huge shout out to Shasta Stolle and Dodie Otoupalik for holding down the fort while I was away. I’m very lucky to have such an amazing team.

💪💪There are hundreds of thousands of dog groomers in the U.S. alone, and well over a million worldwide.
Very few ever put both their individual skills and their entire operation up for true safety evaluation.💥💥
We’re proud to bring that level of care to our small town and the Peninsula.
The Grooming Garage is now an AKC S.A.F.E. Certified Salon.
Each of our groomers completed AKC Safety in the Salon training and passed individual testing to become AKC certified.
Our entire salon was then put to the test as well, with a full evaluation of handling, kenneling, bathing systems, equipment, and daily safety protocols.
Everything was reviewed, including individual test scores and the full facility inspection, before final approval and sign off.
The salon itself was awarded certification on its own merit.
This wasn’t just a class. It was a full look at how we care for dogs from start to finish.
We’re proud of it, and even more proud to offer it here on our peninsula!
