It's common to see new students challenged with multitasking. We have to train our bodies to move and feel in a different way from any of our every day human tasks. THEN make it muscle memory so we don't have to TELL our bodies to do it.

All while using the four natural aids to speak a language only the horse and rider understand.

APHA Zone 9 was everything Team KSSH hoped for and more! With World Show-level competition and large class sizes, every team stepped up, made progress, and gained valuable experience. I couldn’t be more proud of their dedication to their horses, willingness to learn, and commitment to growing together. The results are rewarding, but the journey and the heart they put into it mean so much more. Thank you to the Zone 9 Comittee and to the World Equestrian Center for such an amazing experience.

What a great weekend showing with Nature Coast Western Dressage!

One of the most rewarding parts of this sport is watching a horse gain confidence when we make their job easier. Through balance, correct position, and clear communication, we can create a partnership of softness, resulting in a willing partner.

The answer isn’t additional gear, gadgets, or harsher training methods. The true answer is learning to communicate clearly and effectively, so our horses can carry us with confidence.

A successful weekend, and a great reminder that sometimes less really is more.

We’re back in the saddle and getting back to work!
