🌿 Saturday morning of the final week of Camp Fox Lea 2026 Fox Lea Farm went to the hunters — and the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby Hunt & Go Style Derby was an absolute masterpiece of equestrian sport from the start! Course designer William Robertson crafted a challenging track that drew out the very best in every horse and rider combination! 🏆🐴

🥇 Capturing the blue with a combined classic and handy score of 167 is Kylie Jo Perkins piloting the Holsteiner stallion LOVE LIFE 💙🦄 by La Rocket RC out of Legis Venice, owned by Jenni Martin McAllister. What a name for a horse that clearly loves every second in the ring! Kylie Jo and Love Life were breathtaking across both rounds — rhythmic, expressive, and full of the quiet brilliance that makes the hunter derby so wonderful to watch! 👏✨

💙 Sharing a little behind-the-scenes look at life inside the famous Dixon Oval, warm-ups, barns, and all the atmosphere that makes Devon so special. Celebrating 130 years, The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair remains the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed horse show in the United States.🇺🇸

✨Welcome to the Devon Horse Show!✨

🐴 Shalako, owned by Sharon Shenck, qualified for and will compete this week with 🤩 beginning Monday in the 3’9” Green Hunter division. The pair will also contest Thursday’s $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby.

The team arrived in Devon following an exceptional week at where Shalako was crowned Champion in the 3’6”/3’9” Green Hunters. Together, they earned five first-place 🥇 wins in the division, including the Under Saddle and Green Hunter Incentive. 🏆🐎

A huge thank you to 💙 and the entire team for keeping Shalako happy, fit, and ready for this moment. Looking forward to a great week at one of the sport’s most iconic horse shows! ⭐️

✨ Jenni Martin McAllister was recently asked, “What horse shaped you most as a rider?” and the answer was bigger than just one.

“I have often thought about which horse was my favorite or my best throughout my career, but I’ve never really thought about which one shaped me the most.

The truth is, I can’t pick just one.

There were the Thoroughbreds, the hot ones, the ones who made my early dreams a reality. The experienced horses that taught me to ride at a higher level and gave me my first real opportunities in the sport. The big, scopey horses who required strength and patience, and the more sensitive, blood-type horses who demanded precision and feel.

Each one was different. Each one required something new from me. And with each ride, I grew.

Over time, they didn’t just teach me individually, they built on one another, reshaping my riding again and again.

And then there were all the others… the young horses still figuring it out, the hunters, the ones who didn’t quite fit a mold but had something to give.

What I’ve learned is that every horse has something to teach you. If you can figure out how they want to go and meet them there, they will always give you their best.

So, one horse that shaped my riding? I can’t say just one. They all did, and they still do.”
