Everyone knows ice boots are great... but have you ever stopped to think about what they’re actually cooling? 🤔❄️

Ice boots only cool the areas they’re touching, and they often don’t stay as cold as you’d expect. Our chilled saltwater spa is different. The constantly circulating 35° saltwater surrounds the entire lower limb rom the hoof to the hock so you’re cooling everything, not just a few spots.

On top of that, you’re getting the added benefits of Epsom salt and sea salt, making it more than just cold therapy.

Are ice boots really enough?

The difference speaks for itself.

In the first image, taken after 15 minutes in ice boots, the thermal image still shows significant heat over the hoof and tendon region, the very areas we’re trying to cool after exercise.

Now swipe to see the results after one 15 minute chilled saltwater spa session.

Why is this important? Studies have shown that tendon temperatures can become significantly elevated during exercise, and excessive heat is believed to contribute to the cellular changes associated with tendon injury. Reducing temperature after work helps support the recovery process.

One of the biggest advantages of the chilled saltwater spa is that it doesn’t just cool the tendons, it cools the entire hoof as well.

That’s especially beneficial for horses with sore feet, horses working barefoot, those with navicular-related pain, and horses recovering from laminitis (founder), where therapeutic cooling is commonly used as part of veterinary care and rehabilitation.

Whether your horse is a high-level athlete or simply needs a little extra support to stay comfortable, effective cooling can be an important part of a recovery routine.
