The Equine Medical Center of Ocala located in America’s horse capital, Marion County, offers state of the art specialty care to horse owners throughout Southeast Region. The hospital provides a wide variety of orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries, advanced reproductive technologies, internal medicine diagnostics, state-of-the-art imaging, around the clock intensive care as well as an after-hours emergency service.

WE’RE HIRING | Veterinary Laboratory Technician

The Equine Medical Center of Ocala is looking for a motivated and experienced Veterinary Laboratory Technician to join our growing team.
Our in-house laboratory plays an essential role in the diagnosis and treatment of our equine patients. This position will work closely with our veterinarians and clinical team.

We’re looking for someone who has:
✔️ Strong laboratory and microscopy skills
✔️ Excellent attention to detail and organization
✔️ The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
✔️ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✔️ A passion for equine medicine and patient care

Preferred:
• 2+ years of veterinary laboratory experience
• Coggins certification
This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package including vacation, health & dental insurance, and 401(k). Occasional weekend and holiday coverage is required.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Cierra Cadena, a member of our intern team at the Equine Medical Center of Ocala. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew and loved her.

Dr. Cadena was an amazing individual and a valued member of our team. Her loss is felt deeply throughout our organization and our profession.

Despite Annie's significant medical challenges, her new owners are dedicated to helping her recover.

Annie was among dozens of animals taken from a property near Dunnellon. When authorities arrived at the seizure site, Annie’s mother had to be euthanized, leaving the newborn without the antibodies she needed from her mother’s first milk.🔽

Interns quickly become an integral part of the EMCO family. They spend countless weekends, holidays, and late nights caring for your horses. Completing an internship at EMCO not only provides veterinarians with the hands-on skills and knowledge needed for success, but also creates lifelong mentorships and friendships. Congratulations Dr. Sienna Spaethe, Dr. Isabella Cerrone, Dr. Mariah Alexander, Dr. Michaela Gregory, Dr. Madeline Yokeley and Dr. Avery Fry.
