is a compassionate and dedicated volunteer based, limited intake pet rescue and adoption provider established in April 2007. Our goal is to give unwanted and homeless cats a chance to find love, safety and medical assistance when needed through the volunteers efforts with the financial support of private donations and grants. By using networking for good, we have been able to save the lives of countless animals while fighting for feline wellness. We've built bridges of communication that have opened pathways for wayward cats to find refuge and healing. By our messages finding the right adopters, we've been able to fill the void in both the hearts of our kitties and their new companions.

🤩🥳📯OUR GOAL is to reach 10K FOLLOWERS this year - unlocking a greater level of reach and visibility for all the cats in our care now and in the future! I may look like a confident, handsome guy (because I am), but the second you scoop me up, I melt into a purring puddle. I fall asleep right in your arms, revving like a tiny motorboat the whole time. I’m also the self‑appointed Door Supervisor. If a door opens, I believe it’s my personal invitation to be the first one through. 🥰What is the Sheltering Hands Love for a Lifetime Program? 🥲

Cats (age 8+) are placed with a senior human (75+) in a foster model program that allows seniors to foster a cat until the caregiver can no longer care for the cat or the cat passes. Sheltering Hands provides all needed medical care for the life of the cat and the cat can be returned to Sheltering Hands at any time. The love of a pet provides significant health benefits to seniors and the companionship that is missing now. The cat enjoys the love and stability of a home while living out their days with dignity!

🥹🏫😻🚨HELP US CONGRATULATE ALL THESE LUCKY CATS & KITTENS WHO FOUND A FOREVER HOME!!! Thank you Florida Animal Friend for providing our organization resources towards the fight for feline wellbeing! Congratulations to our adopted furry friends during the month of April! These lucky little ones are off to their forever homes and the new family therein.

Whether they were with us only for a few brief moments or if they felt love of many hands during their time with Sheltering Hands, these feline friends always leave a big impact on our hearts. Once an animal enters into our care system, we are committed to always being there for them. By the grace of the compassionate hearts and tireless workings of our team and volunteers, we are able to serve these animals in the ways they need us! Thank you to everyone who helps share the story of our cats as it it can often lead to the right person finding the cat at the perfect time! With your help we are able to build a stronger community more capable of aiding these animals depending on us!!!
