Quality of Life Rehab & Foster, Inc.

Quality of Life Rehab & Foster, Inc. Quality of Life began in '05, as a mother/daughter team devoted to making a difference, however small. As a whole, we can do a greater good.

Quality of Life wants the community
to know that we will answer your
call to help animals. We specialize in reptiles and amphibians,
but we are here to help all within our ability. A big part of our effort is to build a network
of foster homes and animal lovers. Our mission is to rescue, rehab and release. We will transport wildlife to the proper
rehab facility, if injured or orphaned. We are

also available to the community
to assist in re-homing companion animals. Pet publicist and adoption coordinator available,
provided you are willing and able to foster the animal. We hope to soon be able to assist with the sterilization
of feral cat populations, locally.

Weird question you guys... does anybody have a connection with a pilot or organization that helps with transporting animals to approved adoptive homes out of state? Our sweet Shy Ronnie has been hanging out at Purrs And Pages Ocala, looking for his forever family. Well... IT HAS HAPPENED FOR HIM! His people found him while they were on vacation in Florida and they could not get him out of their minds! They have patiently waited while we navigated the application/approval process remotely and the time has come to make arrangements for Shy Ronnie to GO HOME to Chicago!

We have, in the past, allowed for out of state adoptions. With dogs it has made sense to use transport legs by highway. With cats, it has made more sense to fly them as carry-on with a person. The cost of this is turning out to be prohibitive and we are hoping that our village can help us root out a solution.

We owe you guys an update for August and it has been difficult to find the time. We normally share lots of daily posts and reels to keep you updated on our work but we have been so busy, lately, that we haven't kept up.

You guys need to know the important work that you are a part of and we never intentionally leave ya'll in the dark. So... without further ado...

We took in 7 cats. Moonshine, Sunshine, Mango, Onyx, Artemis, Flapjack and Hopscotch (yes, named in honor of our dearly departed).

We celebrated TWENTY adoptions in August! 3 puppies, 3 bunnies and 14 cats/kittens!

Cats Adopted: Shadow, Angeline, Camino, Tacoma, Fiona, Sylvester, Velvet, Haven, Cloudstrike, Crowdpounce, Summer, Willow, Gabrielle and Moon (the last 4 being adoptions that were made possible through the partnership we share with Purrs And Pages cat cafe in Ocala)!!

Puppies Adopted: Ziva, Patti and Pete (all from the Mother's Love chiweenie case).

Bunnies Adopted: Cinnamon, Luna and Lucky (from the baby bunnies born in April).

We had 23 spay/neuter surgeries in August. We had 2 dogs sterilized (1 female/1 male)... 16 cats sterilized (9 female/7 male)... 5 rabbits sterlized (2 female/3 male).

We had 6 wellness visits at 4 different clinics.

We had a recheck for Mr Wiggles at UF Integrated medicine where he picked up his wheelchair (he even landed a spot on TV20 News)!

We performed outreach in the form of transportation, veterinary and food contribution. We spent 115 hours driving and traveled nearly 1900 miles. We constructed Iowa's new space and he LOVES it. Several new chicken coops were constructed and endless mowing duties performed, of course. We sent off Mr Wiggles DNA kit. And last, but not least... we said goodbye to our friends Ted Bunny and Mercy kitty.

Our village makes this possible. We are so deeply grateful that you guys help us keep the gears grinding. Thank you for understanding how much work goes into keeping it all afloat. It takes equal parts elbow grease and donations. You guys show up for us and the animals EVERYTIME! You sent relief last week and itnhas carried us through. Paid off a few invoices and kept our wheels turning! Our need is always great and our village is so mighty in the many ways that you all show up!!

That said, we are super excited about the upcoming auction... it will be our first EVER! We have about 50 items at this time (mostly pet related). We are still open to taking items/donations for the auction (text us at 352-843-6858). Thank you so much, ya'll!!

Today was a productive day and you guys really showed up for the animals and for us! We have been so busy and we are still working. We have a "Supper with Monty" clip and we still owe you guys the August rundown. We are so eternally grateful to all of you for the love and support. You are more than "followers" and we hope you know that. This is precisely why we say ... because and we need you guys ❤️

Tell your fur babies we said HI and drop us a photo if you have one, handy:) It will make our day to see their happy faces ❤️

* This is Sunshine Daydream and he is our newest kitty friend and we love him❤️❤️ He hopes that HIS pic makes YOUR day!!

Teaching our children to be kind to animals is one of the greatest lessons we can teach them. To be kind, compassionate, and responsible toward animals. My daughter is now a young adult, and last night some of her friends found a tiny, helpless kitten who needed help. They called my daughter, and without hesitation, she stepped in to help. Now, all three of these young adults are working together to bottle-feed and care for this precious little kitten. 🍼🐱❤️
Watching this makes my heart so happy because it is a reminder that the lessons we teach our children really do stay with them. When we teach children to respect animals, to understand that animals feel pain, fear, and love, and to care for those who are vulnerable, we aren't just teaching them how to treat animals, we are helping shape the kind of people they will become.
Kind children grow into compassionate adults. Responsible children grow into responsible young adults. And when they care enough to help an animal in need, they can inspire their friends and others around them to do the same. Teach your children to be kind to animals. Teach them to help, not hurt. Teach them that every life matters. 🐾❤️
Because someday, those children will be the young adults making a difference and influencing others to make a difference too. Teach your children kindness and compassion. Pictured here is the baby they are taking turns caring for.
