t on the success of the Humane Society of Marion County. The Humane Society of Marion County is a non-profit no-kill shelter dedicated to the care and protection of animals in Marion County, Florida. We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings in 1964 with a couple of foster homes and a few good people with a burden to care for these helpless creatures. The first facility, built-in 1979 was located about 15 miles west of Ocala off Hwy 200 in the blackjack woods where very few people lived. Today, this area is very heavily populated and continues to grow.

We decided to let the kittens pick their own personalities... and things got a little out of hand. 😂

According to their choices, we apparently have a heavy-metal-loving lawyer whose favorite food is pancakes and who spends their free time ghost hunting. 🥞👻🤘🏻

Honestly? It all made perfect sense until the ghost hunter tried to eat the evidence.

Apparently, choosing a personality was just too boring for these chaotic little kittens. 🐱 But hey... we think their personalities suit them perfectly.😅🐾

A huge thank you to the medical reps from Boehringer Ingelheim for coming out to the Humane Society of Marion County to train our team on important sanitation protocols and best practices! Keeping our shelter clean and safe is such an important part of caring for the animals in our community. 🧼🐶🐱

And of course, thank you for keeping our team fueled with pizza while we learned! 🍕😋 We appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge and support our shelter! ❤️

Carlos may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him some time, patience, and a little trust, and you’ll get to see the sweet boy hiding underneath. 🥹

Once Carlos gets to know you, he is kind, gentle, and incredibly loving. At just 1 year and 10 months old, he has already spent 131 days waiting for someone to see just how special he is. 🐈‍⬛💕

He may not be the first cat to run up and say hello, but Carlos is proof that sometimes the sweetest friendships just take a little time. 🖤

At just 2 years old, Laezel is full of personality, curiosity, and enough playful energy to keep you smiling! 🥰 She’s a super sweet girl who loves checking out everything around her and making the most of every moment.

Laezel has been waiting at the shelter for 74 days, and we think it’s about time her playful little personality found a family of her own. 🥹🐾

If our cats had the chance to do absolutely anything they wanted… we’re pretty sure they’d make some VERY questionable decisions. 🐱😂

We took a look at each of their personalities and imagined what kind of completely unhinged adventures they’d get themselves into with no rules, no consequences, and absolutely NO supervision.

Let’s just say… we may need to keep a closer eye on them. 👀

The good news? They don’t have opposable thumbs. 😅

But they do have plenty of love to give and are ready to find their forever homes. Come meet them today! 🐾🐈
