🐾 Would You Know If Your Pet Was in Pain? 🐾
Our pets can’t tell us when something hurts—and many dogs and cats are surprisingly good at hiding discomfort. ❤️
Here are a few subtle signs of pain that pet parents sometimes miss:
🐶 Hesitating before jumping on the couch or getting into the car
🐱 Hiding more than usual or avoiding attention
🐾 Taking longer to stand up after resting
🍽️ Changes in appetite or eating habits
😴 Sleeping more—or having trouble getting comfortable
🪜 Avoiding stairs or activities they normally enjoy
😾 Becoming unusually irritable when touched
🐕 Slowing down or falling behind on walks
🧼 Cats grooming less—or excessively licking one particular area
One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is, “They're just getting old.”
Age itself isn't a disease. Changes in mobility, activity, appetite, or behavior can sometimes be your pet's way of telling you something isn't quite right.
If you've noticed your pet acting differently, don't be afraid to mention it during their exam—even if the change seems small. Those little observations can give our veterinary team valuable clues. 🩺❤️
At Magnolia Animal Hospital, we want your pets to enjoy more than a long life—we want them to enjoy a comfortable, happy one.
