Fabulous Fendi really became a show horse at the Del Mar CDI last week. So proud of this mare for going through the challenging Developing Horse Prix St Georges in her practice & Final with 4 scores btw 66-68% from 4 different judges.

Love seeing her confidence & rideability on display- now to clean up this tests and do it again soon! 🤩🥂💃🏼

Great explanation of contact from Bert Rutten: “I have to be able to bring my hand forward and he stays where he is, that’s called self-carriage. Then when I push him, he must have the desire to follow the bit, forward, downwards, then I have contact, and contact is not determined by the weight you have in your hand, that’s a mistake a lot of riders make, they think contact is weight. Contact is that the horse has the desire to follow the bit at all times. “

What incredible pics from Impulsion Images! Really lovely way to record the Steffen Peters Symposium put on by Utah Dressage Society. Gizmo was a terrific marquee demo for the Grand Prix work. I loved Steffen's focus on self carriage & suppleness, I could practice that* stuff all day long! Great to carry it into the hardest work in our sport.

Many thanks to Utah Dressage Society for hosting the fab symposium a few weeks ago w Steffen Peters! Loved the work we did with little powerhouse Gizmo on self-carriage. Here we school medium trot to half steps- this was a first attempt and the activity / self carriage got better & better. I like the close up view of the überstreichen right by the camera as we get ready to start the exercise. 🤩

She’s home!! At last our sacred vessel arrives from Europe. Say hello to our broodmare, All or Nothing, full sister to Charlotte Dujardin’s Team mare, Alive & Kicking. Not only is Evie stunningly beautiful, she is also the sweetest mare in the barn.

She arrives with a baby on board from Reesink Horses fantastic stallion McLaren (Morricone x Sir Donnerhall). Can’t wait for the foal this summer! 🤩

What a whirlwind week it has been! Very cool to take home the Utah Dressage Year End High Point Awards for Grand Prix & Intermediate 1 on Lagerfeld & Emeres, respectively. I never seem to plan my season around awards, so I didn’t ride enough tests for the PSG (sorry, Emeres,) or anything for Barbarella. But Fendi did get a reserve High Point for 4th level! Not pictured: the piles of swag we took home, including embroidered saddle covers, bridle bags, totes & more!

Thanks to the National Dressage Pony Cup for the gorgeous year end awards! Barbarella was Champion in Materiale & Sport Horse Prospect. Excited for her year competing in 5yo’s in 2026!

Excited to have La Baule, (Millennium x Zhivago) in the lineup! He was out for the last month since arriving from NL due to a hoof abscess. Glad it was nothing more serious but we are excited to get going w this big fella! (185cm//18hh, if you’re wondering!)

We just found out that Fendi S (Finest x Sandro Hit/Rotspon) is the recipient of the prestigious Journey Award from the Hanoverian Society! It goes to the top scoring horse & rider combo, with scores aggregated across all the National show levels, from first through fourth.

There have been highs & lows, of course, but we are excited to keep developing this talented young mare through the FEI levels next. Here's a few pictures from the last bit of the journey, making her Developing PSG debut in Colorado in the fall. 🤩
