🩷 THANKFUL THURSDAY 🩷

Today is a bittersweet day for our family Hooves Hounds Hairballs as we say goodbye to someone who started as a client… but quickly became so much more.

Over 2 years ago, Emily Sikorski found us through the Shop Local Magazine after moving to the area and searching for someone she could trust to care for her sweet girl, Lucy, who was bravely undergoing cancer treatments at the time. We were deeply honored to step in and provide the extra love, comfort, and attentive care Lucy deserved while Emily traveled home to be with her father in the hospital.

What began as a single overnight stay turned into a beautiful two-year journey filled with love, trust, laughter, tail wags, and unforgettable memories. We had the privilege of loving Lucy until the very end of her precious life, and later helping care for and raise two incredible Fayette County Animal Rescue — Hank and Gus.

For well over a year and a half, we’ve had the joy of walking Hank and Gus three times every single week. They became more than “pets we care for” — they became our BONUS BUDDIES, part of our pack, and truly part of our hearts.

That’s the beautiful thing about what we do. This isn’t just pet sitting to us. The families we serve become family. The pets we care for become our own. The bonds created through trust, compassion, and consistency are something incredibly special, and we never take that for granted.

While our hearts are heavy saying goodbye, we are beyond excited for Emily and this new chapter as she moves closer to her loved ones in Virginia. Hank and Gus are about to enjoy weekends with grandparents, nieces, nephews, and so much love surrounding them. We know this next season is going to be such a blessing for their entire family.

Please help us wish Emily, Hank, and Gus a heartfelt Farewell, Good Luck, and God Bless as they head to Virginia tomorrow afternoon… AFTER our final walk together, of course. 🩷🐾
