🐾 Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week 🐾
Ever wonder what it takes to run the front desk at a veterinary hospital?
Try answering multiple phone lines while someone’s checking in, someone’s checking out, someone’s asking about a prescription refill from 3 weeks ago, and someone else is gently panicking in the corner about their pet’s symptoms… all at the same time.
Add in a fully booked schedule, a few walk-ins, and the occasional “quick question” that is absolutely not quick.
Basically, it’s customer service, crisis management, scheduling wizardry, medical relay, and emotional support, all before lunch. No big deal 😉
And the crazy thing is… they still love what they do. They do it for you and your pets. 💙
This week, we’re celebrating the amazing humans who somehow keep everything running smoothly while the rest of us are just trying to keep up. Your patience, humor, and ability to multitask at an impossible level do not go unnoticed. We truly couldn’t do it without you.
If you stop by this week, show our front desk team some love… or at least don’t start your sentence with “I know you’re busy, but…” 😄

🐾 April is Lyme Disease Prevention Month! 🐾
Spring is here, and so is tick season! As your pets spend more time outdoors, the risk of tick bites and Lyme disease increases. At Pineview Veterinary Clinic, we want to help keep your furry family members safe all season long.
🔍 Did you know?
Ticks can be as tiny as a poppy seed, so small they're easy to miss even when you're looking! 👉 See our photo for a real-life example of just how tiny these pests really are! And Lyme disease is one of the most common tick-transmitted diseases in North America. The scariest part? Dogs can't tell you when something's wrong.
✅ Here's how to protect your pet:
• Use veterinarian-recommended tick prevention year-round
• Check your pet carefully for ticks after every outdoor adventure: don't forget between toes, ears, and under the collar!
• Ask us about the Lyme disease vaccine for dogs
• Schedule a wellness exam to make sure your pet is fully protected
Don't let something you can barely see cause big problems for your pet. Early prevention is the best medicine! Give us a call or stop by, we're here to help. 🌿

🍀 While most people are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day… 🍀
…here at Pineview, we’re celebrating for a different reason.
Today is also about Gertrude of Nivelles, the patron saint of cats and, quite frankly, an icon. 🐱👑
She was known for keeping rodents away, which means she would’ve definitely approved of today’s feline housemates (and their occasional chaos).
In her honor, we’re featuring one of our favorite feline friend, Lou! 💚
Because let’s be honest… on a day full of luck, cats still run the show 🍀

🐾❄️ Today is the Official Restart of the Iditarod. After yesterday's ceremonial start through Anchorage, the real race begins NOW!
Most people know the Iditarod as an epic 1,000-mile sled dog race across Alaska. But it's rooted in something even more remarkable.
In January 1925, diphtheria was spreading through Nome, Alaska, and the only way to get life-saving medicine to the isolated town was by dogsled. Twenty mushers and around 150 sled dogs relayed the serum 674 miles through temperatures as low as 60 below zero, and not a single vial broke.
Those dogs didn't just run a race. They saved lives.
The Iditarod exists to honor that legacy, and every year it reminds us of the incredible bond between humans and their dogs, and how much these animals give us when we care for them well.
Speaking of which… is your pup due for a checkup? We'd love to see them at Pineview Veterinary Hospital. 🐕

🌟SPOTLIGHT ON RACHEL🌟

Rachel has been working in veterinary medicine for just shy of 7 years, bringing knowledge, compassion, and dedication to our team every single day.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, and she puts that strong science background to work caring for our patients behind the scenes and at the bedside.
Her favorite part about being a veterinary assistant?
“No day is ever the same. There is always something new to come through the doors.” She loves caring for and comforting patients of all shapes and sizes.
You’ll find Rachel helping to run labs, monitoring pets as they wake up from anesthesia, taking patients out for walks, offering comfort when they’re nervous, and celebrating as they recover and head home to their families. She truly sees them through every step of their visit.
🐾 Fun Fact: Rachel was a certified whitewater guide for over 20 years! When she’s not at the hospital, she’s outdoors with her husband, kids, and even grandkids — hiking, rafting, skiing, or doing anything that keeps her outside. At home, she cares for 3 dogs, a cat, 2 bunnies, and even goldfish!
We are so grateful for her experience, compassion, and the steady care she provides here at Pineview Veterinary Hospital. Thank you, Rachel, for everything you do!

🌟SPOTLIGHT ON ERICA🌟

You’re not seeing double—today we’re celebrating Erica, the other half of our Erika/Erica duo! With about 4½ years in veterinary medicine, Erica brings so much heart, compassion, and dedication to everything she does.
Erica’s favorite part of being a veterinary assistant is seeing regular clients and their pets and building meaningful relationships with them over time. She also loves diagnostics and says one of the most special moments is reuniting pets with their families, especially after long hospital stays.
When the job gets stressful, Erica unwinds by spending extra time with her dog, Rocco playing ball in her backyard and soaking in the beautiful sunset views at home. She says nothing beats a good sunset and time with your favorite sidekick after a long, tiring day.
If Erica could give one tip to pet owners, it would be this: spending just a little extra time with your pets can make a world of difference—whether it’s five minutes of fetch, an extra walk around the block, or simply sitting on the floor to give them your full attention. Our fur babies appreciate that extra love and attention more than we’ll ever know.
One thing she wishes clients understood is how stressful and heart-wrenching this job can be at times. It’s far more than annual visits and quick vaccines. Every single team member truly cares about your animal, and when your pet goes to the back, they receive all the love and treats we can offer.
Thank you, Erica, for your compassion, dedication, and the love you show to every patient who walks through our doors. We are so grateful to have you on our team! 💙🐶🐱

🌟SPOTLIGHT ON ERIKA🌟
Today we’re celebrating Erika, one of our amazing veterinary assistants who has been part of the veterinary field for just over 4 years! Erika holds a degree in Animal Science as well as General Studies, and she brings both knowledge and compassion into everything she does.
Her favorite part of the job is helping care for pets and making them feel safe and comfortable in the clinic—because she knows the vet can be a scary place sometimes. While the stressful moments can be tough, Erika says coming home to her happy dogs and spending time with a great group of friends helps make it all worthwhile.
One thing she wishes clients knew? Despite the rumor, we don’t actually get to play with puppies and kittens all day 😉 but we do work incredibly hard behind the scenes to care for your pets.
Fun fact: Erika grew up showing livestock through 4-H and FFA from ages 8–21. Market steers were her favorite, and she even served as County Lady of Agriculture in 2017!
Thank you, Erika, for your dedication, heart, and the care you give to our patients every single day. We are so lucky to have you on our team! 💙🐶🐱

🌟SPOTLIGHT ON CASSY🌟
Today we’re celebrating Cassy, who has been working in veterinary medicine for almost 4 years. She received her Veterinary Assistant Certification from Garrett College, and she brings both compassion and dedication into everything she does.
Cassy’s favorite part of the job is watching difficult cases finally heal and recover, and she finds deep meaning in helping pets and families through every stage of care. She also takes comfort in creating remembrance pieces for pets who have passed, offering families a special way to honor and remember their beloved companions.
Over the years, Cassy has learned how important it is to stay calm and compartmentalize when needed, especially during emotional or high-stress moments. One thing she wishes clients knew is just how much patience, love, and commitment it takes to do this job well.
Her tip for pet owners: never think an issue is too small to bring to our attention—sometimes the smallest details can make the biggest difference in your pet’s care.
When she’s not at the clinic, Cassy loves her “grandma hobbies” like reading, crocheting, and baking, which help her relax and recharge. And one of her favorite moments at work? When pets feel comfortable enough to snuggle and ask for cuddles during their visits. 💕
Thank you, Cassy, for your kindness, empathy, and the gentle care you give to every patient and family. We are so grateful to have you on our team! 💙🐶🐱
