Halloween is a lot of fun for many of us, but may be stressful for dogs. Some things to keep in mind on Halloween with your dog(s).

1. Chocolate can be toxic to dogs, keep all candy up high
2. Make sure their ID is on them since the door will be opening and closing a lot, just in case they run out
3. Scary parties, constant doorbell ringing or too many strangers in your home can be stressful to your furry friend and even make them physically ill. Have a safe and quiet place for them where they will feel safe and comfortable.

With families starting to book vacations, don't forget cats need to have care while you are away too. Especially if you've been home more than normal the past couple of years. Cats can react in negative ways sometimes. Sometimes just a visit every so often can make the difference.

With these hot days we've been having, remember that your dogs feet can burn on the hot ground too. Always test the ground first by placing your hand or foot on the ground for 10 seconds and if it's too hot for you to hold it there, it's too hot for your dog to walk on. Walk them preferably earlier in the day or later in the evening.
