A. We are a 501c3 Organization

All of us at Oakdale Equine Rescue are in this for one thing and one thing only, our love for these beautiful equines. All over the United States and abroad these animals are faced with unknown fate. They are either part of a family, sold for slaughter, unwanted, neglected, or their owners have fallen into hard times and can no longer care for them. Oakdale Equine rescue was established in October of 2010 to provide a safe and happy environment for these equines in need. Many times these horses come to rescues due to abuse and neglect, that’s what all of us at Oakdale Equine Rescue are passionate about giving these special horses a safe haven even for just a short stay until we find them a forever loving home. Assist animal control officers in seizing, adopting and fostering horses:
B. Rehabilitate neglected and or abused horses:
C. Educating the public with horse care and management:
D. Help Equine owners place horses in time of need:
E. Help place equines into forever homes:
F. Be available to other equine rescues:
G. To encourage the public to get involved by stopping all animal neglect and abuse:

There are so many positive avenues Oakdale Equine Rescue can offer and with our dedicated board of directors we will make life kinder, happier, healthier and secure for these wonderful equines.

Lisa Dunkley was arrested on October 11 for failing to report to probation and failing to pay restitution. The judge ordered she remain in jail for 90 days.

Oakdale Equine Rescue accepts horses exclusively through animal control agencies because we believe these animals deserve a voice and those responsible for their suffering should be held accountable.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to DA Tracy Griffin for giving these horses that voice and for her continued dedication to holding Lisa accountable under the law.

Thanks to an OER follower, we caught a SCAMMER!
We were recently asked about Oakdale Equine Rescue t-shirts that were being offered for sale. The person reporting it saw them listed in a post. That post has been removed.
Please know that we will make a direct post if and when they become available again. It will not be tucked into a "Reply" on a post.

This morning Jeannine spoke in front of the Board of Supervisors meeting. We did this in order to raise awareness for the horses and to get a resolution for the horses. They deserve nothing less.

If you would like to help, we have attached to donate button below. Thank you for all your support.

EDIT: HE WAS JUST FINE! WE WERE BEING EXTRA CAUTIOUS BECAUSE HE HAD ALREADY BEEN ADOPTED, AND WE JUST WANTED VERIFICATION THAT EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!
Crawford went on a ride to Sweet River Equine Clinic yesterday just to make sure everything was going well for him. And I tell you, he has got to be the sweetest, most docile foal we have ever met! He took everything in stride, from being in a new place, to being handled my Dr. May. He even fell asleep on one of our volunteer's feet! That picture is in the comments below!
Mr. Crawford, you are a one in a million horse!

WELCOME TO THE WORLD, CRAWFORD!!
This sweet baby Buckskin c**t entered the world at 4:29 a.m. and has already been adopted!
Wendy Jones, the wonderful lady who adopted Scarlet, made the adoption before this little one even hit the ground. How? Why? We'll, because Crawford's mom is the same mare who put Scarlet into her life. She is so impressed by her little red filly that she made the decision right then and there to adopt the foal.
We have never had this happen before, and are extremely excited for the Wendy and Crawford to bond!
What a fabulous Labor Day weekend it has turned out to be!

UPDATE ON SCARLET!
Wendy Jones and Brook Garcia took Scarlet home for a two week trial. This is what Wendy has to say about her...
"She is an absolute dream come true! I’m so optimistic for our future. She is gorgeous, sweet, smart, willing, calm & quiet. She’s one of those, "show her once & she’s got it" kind of horses. She’s all that…& more! Thank you so much!!!!!!! She has won our hearts in such a short time. We love her so much & can’t wait for our future!!!! 🐴❤️"
They haven't settled on a new name for this beautiful red filly, and have been calling her by several different names to find the one that sticks.
Whatever her name turns out to be, we are so happy to see such love between the three of them. ❤️

Opal now named Kristal and Liberté. Liberté was Mary Ann’s Oma's (Grandmother's) middle name so they gave Liberté’s name a touch of French;)
These two beautiful mares are out on a two week trial! Something about these two fabulous people tells me that Liberté and Kristal won't be coming back to OER!

UPDATE!!! Shelby was posted for adoption on May 15th, and quickly found her forever home with Quinn Walker .
She is now named Breeze, and is doing great!
Quinn let us know that Breeze willingly takes the saddle and will walk down the road proudly wearing it. She has also been hauled to events where she stands tied to the trailer with tons of action going on around her. **Note... She is NOT being ridden***
We knew she was smart and would have a bright future with the right person. Turns out that we were correct!
