I wanted to create a post on fish health. I'm not saying I'm an expert but this is what I keep on hand and seems to be doing me well so far. I am constantly trying new things to better my fish but here are the things I do consistently use. I always have bacterial, parasite, and fungal medication on hand. I keep a variety on hand of multiple medications because over time these issues can build immunity to a single medication and have a resistance. With multiple medications it does decrease the chances building an immunity. I typically also use a Sponge Filter since it is a good aerator and filtration system in any quarantine tank an easy to switch out. My top medications I like so far is paragaurd and Prazipro. I have aquarium salt but it is my last resort if nothing else is working because it can be tricky to use just in case if you under or over salt something. It can be very detrimental to your fish. Most of the time I get my medications on Amazon or the aquarium Co-op page. I have a few more medications I am in the process of ordering and will be trying out when needed but for a backyard koi keeper these medications are great for a reasonable price.
