I feel like this move really inched Kali further into her senior behaviors. She’s sleeping a lot more, she is slower to get moving and much more anxious when things get stressful.

She lovessss her routines but also still will always be up for a good adventure. It’s such an interesting time to navigate your best friend go through the aging process. But as her mama, I just want to give her everything while also letting her relax and be comfortable. It’s all about balance.

It’s finally feeling like summer. We prepped for a mild Memorial Day weekend and it’s been surprisingly sunny and warm.

We are putting together our summer bucket list, what should be on it?

So far we have: hiking in the mountains, a Whidbey day visit and the Japanese gardens (if they are dog friendly - I haven’t looked).

Today… I, Kali’s mama, turn 33. I am pretty content with life right now. Kali has watched me move through many seasons, each one being so different. She has always been my constant, for more than 10 years. I’m so lucky we get to spend all this passing time together.

We missed you all this weekend!

Life has been busier than ever and I am trying my best to keep some normalcy and routine for Kali with all the changes. There hasn’t been a lot of excitement other than all the moving boxes and unpacking we are doing.

We are getting there slowly but surely! I am finally starting to realize how much immediate beauty we are moving away from. I’m already trying to figure out which adventures we are going to set out on, once we have the time to!

We have been a little quiet… we are mostly moved into our new home and have been focusing on that all weekend.

Kali and Frankie and are both very stressed. Frankie is settling in a little quicker, but she is younger. I think the routine of the weekday will be good for both of them. This has been one of the harder moves with them and I really think it’s because of their age. These girls just aren’t as resilient as they used to be.

We have been sharing more detailed updates through our close friends stories. Just DM us if you’d like to be added to that for more in depth play by plays on our moving process and how the babies are doing.

And lastly, Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful mamas out there, dog moms or otherwise!
