A final note-
While it may have seemed like we bonded over a shared love of the beautiful animals in our lives, the truth is that Island Pet existed for all of these years because of the shared love of community. Whether an old friend or a new neighbor I was lucky enough for many years to have a front row seat to witness what it means to be part of something greater than self. Besides all of the joy and great memories of Island Pet, if there is one thing I hope that remains of this legacy it is this-
Slow down. Be kind. Remember that the love you share with that furry/scaly creature in your life can be equally applied to your neighbor. Be open to giving it and also receiving it in return.
A place where we can all feel welcomed.

After more than 48 years I am retiring…

We would like to invite you all to our biggest and final celebration sale ever starting January 19th!

Island Pet Center has been your local family owned pet store since 1977. Across more than four decades now this has been my life. It is with great gratitude that I am announcing my retirement. To all the friends I have made and everyone that has supported us I am so grateful. I have been blessed over the years to witness the joy of your new puppy or your child's first pet. For some of you it was your first pet as a child and then later your child's first pet with you as the parent (how cool is that?). I’ve been there for the sadness of loss of a cherished family member and you’ve been there for the sadness of loss for me as well.

My goal was always to create a place where everyone could feel welcomed as family and accepted as they are. I am proud to have accomplished that not only with those that walk through my front door but also the many wonderfully diverse amazing people who worked for and with me over the years to create this.

We have always done things a little differently but I have always strived to do it with the utmost integrity, honesty and love. To our customers, employees, neighbors, and friends: thank you for supporting a local business for nearly five decades. Your kindness, trust, and loyalty made Island Pet Center what it was.
