I’m so excited to share a little news with all of you! My daughter, Carrie, will officially be joining me at Well Groomed by Cynthia as she begins learning the art and trade of professional dog grooming! ❤️

Carrie has been a lifelong animal lover, holds a degree in zookeeping, and is absolutely phenomenal with animals of all shapes, sizes, and species. Her patience, compassion, and natural ability to connect with animals are truly special, and I couldn’t be more excited to help her begin this new journey!

Please rest assured: I will remain directly involved in every appointment, and our service standards will not change. I will be by Carrie’s side 100% of the time, overseeing her work and continuing to provide the care, attention, and quality you expect. Because Carrie is still learning, appointments may take slightly longer at first, but shouldn’t be by much!

This is not about changing what you know and love about Well Groomed by Cynthia. It’s about welcoming someone I love and trust into a profession that has been such a huge part of my life. ❤️

Those of you who know me know how deeply I care about what I do, the dogs entrusted to me, and the relationships I have built with all of you over the years. I would never take that trust lightly, and I want you to feel just as comfortable and confident bringing your dogs here as you always have.

I’m incredibly proud of Carrie and look forward to teaching her everything I can while sharing something that has meant so much to me for so many years.

It’s been a heartbreaking couple of days here😞💔🐾.

For the last couple of years, I was lucky enough to be trusted with the care of this exceptionally good boy. Bowzer was a very nervous guy, but underneath that nervousness was the sweetest, kindest soul. He was always such a good boy, and it was an absolute honor to be his groomer.

This past July, Bowzer came in for his normal groom, and something just didn’t feel right. I noticed that something was very wrong, and I immediately reached out to his mom. She trusted my judgment enough to get him to the vet right away, and I will always be grateful that she listened.

Sadly, they discovered that Bowzer had a very enlarged liver, and he was not stable enough to undergo the biopsy they needed to determine exactly what was happening. They started him on medication, and somehow, that sweet boy got to feel great for a few more months. He got more time. More good days. More love.

On Sunday, it was heartbreakingly time to say goodbye to this goodest of boys.

Bowzer, I hope you know how very loved you were. I feel incredibly grateful that I got to know you, care for you, and be part of your life. You may have been nervous, but you were always so very good, and I will remember you exactly that way.

Thank you for trusting me with him. Thank you for listening when something didn’t seem right. And most of all, thank you for giving me the privilege of loving your boy, too.

Rest well, sweet Bowzer. You were one of the good ones. You always will be. ❤️🐾

Oh Ginger. I was absolutely NOT prepared to hear that the last time I held you, was the last time I was going to get to hold you. The news literally took my breath away.

I will never forget the time you decided you had a better plan than getting groomed and locked your mom’s car doors so she couldn’t get you out. My sweet Gingy, you certainly knew what you wanted, and you weren’t afraid to make your feelings known!

I ALWAYS looked forward to my Fridays with Ginger. I will miss your sweet face, your personality, and all the little things that made you Ginger. Thank you for the memories, the laughs, and the privilege of caring for you, it was my absolute pleasure to be a small part of your life.

Run free, sweet girl. 🌈🐾 I hope there are endless Munchkins waiting for you on the other side.

You were loved, you were cherished, and you will be missed more than you know.

When you’ve been told repeatedly that surgery is the only path forward in fixing your hands, but you’re a pet groomer, who relies on their hands to make a living, AND you own a business….you improvise! Good thing I married a mechanic, we’ve got plenty of this stuff in the house! Let’s face this week head on!

❤️ A little update from Well Groomed by Cynthia ❤️

Hi everyone! I wanted to take a moment to address something that may have made its way around locally, because I don’t want any of my clients worrying or making plans based on information that is no longer current. I hadn’t said anything publicly yet, because I hadn’t even decided EXACTLY what I was doing.

As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some significant issues with my hands, and I had been preparing for the possibility of surgery. Because of that, I had previously PRIVATELY shared that I expected to close Well Groomed by Cynthia at the end of the year.

Since that conversation, I have decided to hold off on surgery for now, and I’m taking some time to reassess what that means for my business and my future. I am not ready to make a final decision about what Well Groomed by Cynthia will look like going forward, but I can assure you that ANY decision that is made will not be made lightly, and you’ll ABSOLUTELY hear about it DIRECTLY from ME.

I also want to clarify why I had mentioned my plans to a particular person in the first place. I had already made the decision that I would not be accepting their dog back as a client due to multiple no-call/no-shows and a repeated pattern of behavior that I felt was incredibly disrespectful of me, my time, and my small business. That decision was separate from my surgery and remains unchanged. This person is upset that I will not groom their dog, and as a result they are now trying to damage the business that I’ve worked so hard to build, by spreading rumors on public community forums.

I know some of you may have heard, or read that I’m closing, and I simply wanted you to hear directly from me that my plans are still being worked out. ❤️

When I have a definite answer about the future of my business, you will hear it DIRECTLY from me, and until then, business remains as normal.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and, as always, for trusting me with your best friends. The support you’ve given me over the years means more than I could ever put into words. 🐾❤️

Only groomed one dog today. ❤️

Yoda James is headed to the vet for X-rays, bloodwork, and blood pressure testing, and honestly, I still cannot wrap my head around any of this. There are moments when I look at him and just cannot believe that we are walking through this with our sweet boy.

So for now, we’re not looking too far ahead. We’re just holding him a little tighter, loving him a little harder, and being incredibly grateful for every extra day we are given.

Every extra hour.
Every extra minute.
Every little moment that we get to have him here with us.

That’s all that matters right now. ❤️🐾

Thank you everyone that has inquired and shared. I'm struggling to keep up with replying to all of the messages and comments. Zoey is a very lucky little lady. At this time, we have a few potential perfect homes for her.

Hi everyone. My name is Zoey. I'm a super sweet 2 year old cavapoo. I'm in an unfortunate situation right now. My dad passed away and my elderly mom is struggling to care for me. 😢💔 I'm a bit shy as I've lived only with an elderly couple and haven't had much socialization. But, my groomer says I'm a really good girl and someone would be so blessed to have me in their home. She thinks I'll quickly acclimate to new surroundings. She also says she's gonna hand pick my new family for me. ❤️🐾 So if you have room in your heart and home, reach out to my groomer. You all know her. She also said first grooming with my new family is no charge. 🛁 🐾 If you aren't able to help, please share so I can find my forever home. ❤️🐾

I haven’t posted friends recently, but it’s not because I haven’t been busy! Here are the beautiful friends I’ve seen recently! BoJack, Gracie, Milo, Duke, Dolly, London, Chewy, Roo, Millie, Havi, Piper, Maddie, Chipi, Miles, Maggie, Maya, Ginger, Baylee, Minnie, Finn, Minnie (not a typo there were too little Minnie’s!) Max, Ellie, Dune, Jeter, Mica, Maya (not a typo, there were two Maya’s!), Leah, Ruby, Bleu, Tango, Bailey, Auggie, Hashtag, Teddy, Willow, Boo, and Bucky! Thank you to each of their families for trusting me to take care of them! I’m incredibly grateful! 😊🐾♥️
