Matthias Performance Horses Horse training and riding lessons For over 40 years Matthias Arabians has bred and trained national-level champion Arabian horses.

These breathtaking Arabian horses have graced the Arabian Community nationwide...not only in the show ring, but in the impeccable bloodlines that continue to enhance the breed. Leon Matthias, a renowned trainer and respected regional and national-level judge, has dedicated his life to producing and training the finest of the Arabian breed. Within the Arabian world the name Matthias is synonymous with integrity. Because of its full-scale operation and excellence in barn management, Matthias Arabians is used as a teaching center by Iowa State University's Animal Science Equine Program. Matthias Arabians is a premier source for Arabians and Half-Arabians that provides services in breeding, training of horses (halter and performance), sale of horses, as well as classes in all disciplines.

There’s something so special about watching a kid grow with their horse. ❤️

One of our favorite parts of teaching lessons is getting to be there for all of the little moments — watching the connection grow, seeing confidence build, working through the hard days, and celebrating the moments when everything finally clicks.

And honestly, it goes far beyond what happens in the arena. These kids are learning responsibility, patience, confidence, determination, and how to work through challenges. We get to watch them grow as riders, but even more importantly, we get to watch them grow as people.

That’s why our youth mean so much to us. We believe in investing our time and our hearts into the next generation because they are the future of our industry. Being a part of their journey and watching them develop into confident young horsemen and horsewomen is something we are truly grateful for.

We don’t just want to help them become better riders. We want to help them build a love for horses and lessons that they can carry with them for a lifetime. 🤍
