🖤 Kirby — Her Happily Ever After Is Long Overdue

Kirby's story started out much scarier than any Halloween tale should.

Around 5 years old, Kirby came to us after being abandoned in an apartment for months. Understandably, she wasn't exactly thrilled with people when she arrived. But we gave her time. We gave her patience. And slowly, Kirby learned that people could be safe again.

Today, she has become a sweet, wonderful girl, and watching that transformation has made us love her even more. ❤️

🐾 About Kirby:
🎃 Around 5 years old
❤️ Sweet and loving once she feels safe
🐾 Has made incredible progress
🏡 Ready for the forever home she deserves

Kirby has already survived the scary part of her story. Now she just needs someone to give her the happy ending. ❤️

We have this amazing, bonded pair who we desperately want to find a home for so they can stay together.

Xena is 6 and Layla is 3. They have been together for the 3 years of Layla's life.

We had some health concerns about Xena after a serious bug bite/sting to the face that carried some residual affects. After much vetting, it has been determined that she is cleared and ready to go home!

It is really important for us to try our best to keep them together but we are also realistic and understand that is a big ask.

We are going to give it a couple of weeks to try to find that special, unicorn adopter that is willing to take on a bonded pair but if we have no luck, it is unfair for them to sit here forever waiting.

They both deserve a loving home and if that means separating them to make that happen, that's what we are going to have to do.

They are both beyond wonderful with kids of all ages, love everyone they meet and do really well with the cats here at the shelter.

They are both very active and playful but not chaotic. They love their toys, zoomies, tummy rubs, park time and every single human they meet! ❤️

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share this post and hopefully the right person will happen upon it and come sn**ch these wonderful girls up.

🐾 THANK YOU, SIMON AND SONS HVAC! ❤️

A huge shout-out to Simon and Sons HVAC in Monroeville for once again donating their time and services to helping our shelter animals! They repaired the dehumidifier in our dog kennel, helping us maintain a healthy environment for our pups. 🐶

We are so grateful for businesses that care about our animals and our mission! Thank you for being such amazing supporters of the Huron County Humane Society! 💙

Our shelter animals need your help!

We’re reaching out to our wonderful community for help with a couple of everyday essentials that make a big difference for the animals in our care. ❤️

We are currently in need of:
🐶 Purina ONE dry dog food
🧹 Floor cleaner (such as Pine-Sol, Mr. Clean, or Fabuloso)

Whether you’re able to donate one item or several, every little bit helps us keep our shelter clean and our animals fed and cared for. Items can be dropped off at the shelter during our normal business hours.

We are so grateful for the kindness and generosity of our community. We truly couldn’t do what we do without you!

Thank you for supporting the animals at the Huron County Humane Society! 🐕🐈

👻 Kylie — The Girl You Might Not Notice... But Should

Kylie has a Halloween disappearing act perfected — but we'd really like someone to finally see her. ❤️

Around 3 years old, Kylie is extremely shy. She loves attention once you give it to her, but she isn't the type of cat who will run to the front and demand that you notice her.

Because of that, she has been overlooked for a looong time. And that's exactly why we're asking you to give her a chance.

Kylie does really well with other cats and would actually benefit from having feline friends in her future home. 🐈🐈‍⬛

🐾 About Kylie:
🎃 Around 3 years old
❤️ Loves attention
👻 Very shy and doesn't seek it out
🐈 Does great with other cats
🏡 Would benefit from a home with feline friends

Sometimes the best cats aren't the ones demanding your attention from the front of the kennel. Sometimes they're quietly waiting for someone patient enough to notice them. Please give Kylie that chance. ❤️

A gift in honor or memory of someone special is a meaningful way to celebrate the impact they have had on your life while also helping animals in need. ❤️🐾

Whether you are remembering a loved one who has passed, honoring someone special, or celebrating a person who shares your love for animals, a tribute gift to the Huron County Humane Society helps provide care and support for the animals who depend on us.

Donations can be made online through our website at https://www.huroncountyhumanesociety.com/give, by calling or stopping in during regular business hours, or by sending a donation through the mail.

Honor a life. Celebrate a love. Help an animal in need.

🎬 We need your help making this year’s Vine & Dine a blockbuster! 🐾

The Huron County Humane Society is preparing for our 19th Annual Vine & Dine Fundraiser: Black & White Movie Night, and we are currently seeking donations for our auction!

We would love donations from local businesses, organizations, and individuals. Gift baskets, gift cards, merchandise, experiences, services, tickets, or other unique items all make wonderful additions to our auction.

Every item donated helps make Vine & Dine a success and, most importantly, helps us continue providing care, shelter, and support to animals in need in our community. ❤️

If you or your business would like to donate an auction item, please contact the Huron County Humane Society or stop by during our regular business hours. We kindly ask that all auction items be received by October 25th.

🎃 Meet Tucker
We found the sweetest pumpkin in the patch—and his name is Tucker! 🎃❤️

Tucker is around 5 years old, and while our best guess is that he may be a Chow/Shepherd mix, we know for sure that he is 100% love bug!

Tucker seems to like just about everyone he meets. He doesn’t show much interest in the other dogs at the shelter, but he isn’t reactive toward them either. He is very interested in cats, although we don’t yet know how he would do with cats roaming freely in a home.

Tucker does have skin allergies and is currently on medication. This will likely be something his future family will need to continue managing, but it certainly doesn’t slow this sweet guy down.

No need to wander through the pumpkin patch looking for the perfect one—we think we already found him. 🧡 If you’re looking for a handsome, affectionate companion, stop in and meet Tucker.

Maybe this pumpkin is the missing piece of your family this fall! 🍂🐾
