Meet Bri! 💚🐾

Bri is one of our veterinary assistants here at Creekside! She has been with Creekside for over a year and a half now, and has become a familiar smiling face around the clinic!

Bri strives to educate owners about quality medicine, so that we can provide the best care for your pet! She enjoys seeing the positive impact that we can have on our patients by giving them the treatments and medications they need to keep them healthy and happy!

Bri's favorite animals are cows, especially her longhorns at her farm. If you look closely, you might spy Midnight hiding (somewhat?) in her photo! 🐮

Meet Jes! 🧡🐾

Jes is one of our newer faces around the clinic who has become an immense help in our day to day flow! She has been with Creekside for 3 months now, but has been in the veterinary field for 17 years.

Jes loves meeting new patients and watching them grow, and being part of their journey! She enjoys seeing our four-legged friends have long, healthy lives and build lasting relationships with them along the way. For Jes, it's most rewarding to make a difference not only for our patients, but for their families.

Jes loves dogs and has a French bulldog and 3 pitbulls at home.

Today is Rabies Awareness Day, where we remind owners of the dangers of the rabies virus. 💉❤️

Rabies is a virus that spreads by bites from the infected animal. The rabies virus then moves through the muscle tissues, slowly making its way into the nerves, and finally to the brain. This process can be slow, but it can also cause death within 10 days. There is no curative treatment for rabies in animals, which is why we urge owners to have their pet's rabies vaccines up to date.

Rabies cannot be tested for in live animals, therefore any pet that has been bitten by another animal will often be given a rabies booster to improve immunity.

You can help reduce the risk of unexpected encounters with wild animals by walking with or staying close-by to your pet when they are outdoors. Please remember that any animal fight or wounds should be promptly examined by a veterinarian to reduce risk of infections.

Today we want to share some important tips on maintaining a healthy gut in our pets! 🧡

Both dogs and cats benefit from improving their gut health! A good place to start is with a balanced diet that provides all the necessary vitamins, minerals, and nutrients to keep them feeling healthy and strong!

Most over-the-counter diets are AAFCO-approved, meaning they meet the standards for providing a complete and balanced diet.

If you are feeding your pet a home-cooked diet, you can double-check their nutrients using Balanceit.com. 🐾✔️

It's also important that we ensure our pets are not infected with intestinal parasites. These parasites can be detected on f***l samples submitted to your veterinarian. After we diagnose the parasite, we deworm the pet with the appropriate medications.

Lastly, some pets require more intensive dietary management with either fiber supplementation, probiotics, or even prescription diets.

Do you have concerns for your pet's gut health? If so, please schedule an appointment with our doctors and we would be happy to help!
