I’ve been posting about Iris all week 🤷🏾‍♀️
Prepare to be sick of me 🤭

Thought I’d share some essentials as we’ve found a nice routine for her adapting to this new life.

🐶Training starts day 1 of bringing pup home (no roaming, crate and family intro)
🐶Crates are for naps, feeding and downtime
🐶Puppies need naps!
🐶Start routine immediately
🐶Mealtime is also an opportunity for training&bonding
🐶Stick to the plan/routine
🐶Potty breaks immediately at wake-up and after naps
🐶Puppies will eat & drink or always act hungry or thirsty. Stick to a schedule.
🐶Don’t leave food and water out. They’ll always have a reason to consume so they’ll always have a reason to discard 🤷🏾‍♀️
🐶Structured play and social time w/ dogs that are UTD on shots and well balanced
🐶 Socialization to noises, sounds, people, animals, textures, surfaces is major!
🐶Don’t give in to the whines 😵‍💫 unless you know it’s potty time. Even then, it can get tricky.

Okay, I could go on but enough for now. 🤗

It’s so nice when clients show appreciation.
My reward is knowing their pup is happy, safe and comfortable.

But it definitely makes it even better when the love is shown.

Thanks Mia for all the Chin spins, grunts and side eyes you share 🤭 and thank you to Mia’s family for the continued love and support ❤️

Owning a business is a lot. It makes it all worth it with clients like this 🥰.

Iris had some down time in her playpen yesterday. She threw a lil fit because Diamond was walking around freely enjoying whichever spot in the house she chose to relax.

These are the moments that are make or break when raising a puppy. I could’ve given in to her whines and adorable puppy face. 🥹

But instead, I reminded myself of how this structure will pay off long term.

She’s learning
🐶Impulse control
🐶Balance
🐶Potty training
🐶Calm
🐶Regulation
🐶Socialization

All while being guided to stay in her crate or pen.
Our girl is doing well 👏🏾

She’s literally perfect 😍
Settling in like a champ and learning so fast!
Potty training 👌🏾(no accidents in crate or house )
Socializing 👌🏾(structured play but excitable pup)
Commands 👌🏾(knows “sit”, “name”, “crate”)

Your girl just came into the family and is working her role like she knows just what to do.

She brings us so much joy and is a great addition 🐶💜.
