Proud Auntie moment 🥰

I spent the day with these two neighbor dogs who tend to bark, lunge and ‘lose it’ when they see each other.

Fun fact: Socializing doesn’t mean throw your dog in a room or fenced in area with other dogs and let em ‘figure it out’.
When introducing your dog to other dogs,you must be considerate/conscious of:
🐶Space
🐶Timing
🐶Body language
🐶Play style
🐶Breaks
🐶Leash to direct, control or correct

Notice I never once included breed or size 🤔. I notice there’s a lot of focus on breeds and pairing why behaviors are the way they are. I’m all for awareness and understanding breeds and history. However, breed awareness should help in balancing the life of a dog. It should give excuses or passes.

Anywho. I’m off my soapbox.

Here’s a proud moment from Violet and Bella. Learning to exist peaceably with one another. We started with distance outside, walking around the yard, then closer proximity inside and finally, engagement when ready.

While visiting he enjoyed:
🐶Uninterrupted meals
🐶Treats
🐶Sniffing out the critters and deer
🐶Exploring the property
🐶Relaxing on the futon
🐶Random Zoomies and runs in the yard or Bark Barn.
