Yesterday, we took these 12 of our Lhasa Apsos for official eye examinations, and their hearts were also checked by auscultation.

All these dogs have also been officially DNA-tested for PRA4 (10 clear and 2 carriers) and CDDY (all clear). However, even with a clear genetic test result, it is advisable for Lhasa Apsos to undergo a comprehensive eye examination at least once or twice during their lifetime. One as younger dog and second time as dog is older (over 6-7 Years). Other eye conditions found in the breed include various forms of cataracts, entropion, tear duct problems and distichiasis.

We are extremely happy that all 12 dogs were found to be healthy. With these excellent results, we can continue our responsible Lhasa Apso breeding programme with even greater confidence and peace of mind. ❤️
