It’s Vet Tech Week, and honestly, we could never fit into one post how much our technicians mean to us. 💚

Our techs are a whole lot of heart, a ton of dedication, a little bit of chaos, and SO much of what makes North Shore Family Pet what it truly is. From the silly & weird baby voices they make to soothe uncertain patients, their unique ability to turn into a human pretzel for a blood draw on a patient with zero chill 😂, and the extra catered care they give every single patient, we’re pretty lucky to have this incredible group of people working behind the scenes to keep the wheels of NSFP going!

So, to start off Vet Tech Week, we wanted to share a few goofy behind-the-scenes "bloopers" with you. 😜 Because truly, there is never a dull moment with this crew. 😂 There’s a ton of smiles, a lot of laughs, and a whole bunch of love behind every single thing they do, even when the days are hard.

HAPPY VET TECH WEEK! 🐾💓🐕🐈

We’re feeling extra grateful today! 💚 Thank you to our amazing community for voting North Shore Family Pet Hospital #1 on Nextdoor Faves! 🐾

Being part of this community and caring for your four-legged family members means so much to us. Whether you’ve been with us for years or are just joining our family, we’re so thankful you trust us with the pets you love most.

Thank you for supporting our team, recommending us to your neighbors, and letting us be a part of your pets’ lives. We couldn’t do it without you (and, of course, all the very good pooches and kitties who make our days a little brighter)! 🐶🐱💚

From our family to yours, THANK YOU! 🐾

We may only see dogs and cats here at NSFP, but members of our staff have many other furry, scaley, feathered and hooved friends at home! Check out our technician Sams' horse giving her cat a "gentle" little bath! 😂❤️
What pets do you have at home besides cats and dogs? 🦆🐴🐷🐠🐀🐇🦎🐢

It's always a great day with these fun and friendly faces! Our CSR's truly are the very best. 🐾

NSFP is celebrating Client Service Representative Week! 🐾💙 And if you’ve ever called, walked through our doors, made an appointment, had a question, picked up medication, needed a little reassurance, or just wanted to show off pictures of your pet… chances are you’ve already met our amazing client service team! 😂

Our CSRs somehow manage to answer the phones, juggle a million things at once, keep us all organized, help our clients, love on every patient that walks through the door, and still keep smiling through the chaos. Basically… we’re not sure how they do it. 🤷‍♀️😂

They are such a HUGE part of what makes North Shore Family Pet feel like "family". We’re incredibly lucky to have a team that cares so much about our clients, our patients, and each other.

So here’s to the people behind the desk who keep the wheels turning (and occasionally keep the rest of us from losing our minds 😅).

Jillian, Emmy, Marie, Gina, Paul, Nancy (and we cant forget our cross-trained techs- April, Stephanie, Nicole, Allie and Sarah), we love you, appreciate you, and couldn’t do this without you! 💙🐶🐱

Happy Client Service Representative Week! 🎉 Come by, say hello, and show your appreciation to the paw-some faces at the front desk! ❤️✨️ Let's keep the celebration going! 🥰💓

Those eyes have seen a thousand adventures and they're ready for a thousand more. 🐾🤍

Senior dogs have this quiet, steady kind of energy that is impossible not to love. As the season changes and the air gets crisp, there's something extra special about slowing down and just being present with an older pup. 🍂

According to an alert from the Cook County Bureau of Administration, a bat found near a home 400 block of Grove Street in Glencoe July 3 was brought to the Illinois State Public Health Laboratory for testing.
The testing determined the bat was positive for rabies, Cook County said. It's the second bat to test positive in the country this year.

While rabies cases are uncommon, this is an important reminder to stay vigilant and help protect both your family and your pets.

✅ What you should do:
• Keep pets current on their rabies vaccinations.
• Avoid handling bats or other wild animals, even if they appear sick, injured, or deceased.
• Supervise pets when they are outdoors, especially at dawn, dusk, and overnight.
• If your pet has any contact with a bat or other wildlife, contact your veterinarian immediately-even if you don't see any obvious injuries.
• If a person has had direct contact with a bat, contact your healthcare provider and your local health department right away for guidance.

If you have questions about your pet's rabies vaccination status or believe your pet may have been exposed to wildlife, please give our office a call. We're here to help keep our community safe!
