Happy Theory Thursday! For the beginning of Autumn lets talk pumpkin. Every morning Monty gets a spoonful of pumpkin. Why is pumpkin so good for dogs? For starters, pumpkin is a good source of fiber and helps with digestion. It has plenty of nutrients for dogs, such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Potassium, and Iron. Also, pumpkin can help your dog with digestion, if they are struggling with constipation or diarrhea. Lastly, pumpkin can help with a**l gland health. For ana gland problems, we recommend you talk with your vet. However, too much pumpkin can cause digestive upset or nutrient imbalance. Both articles provide how much to give to your dog. The Longwood Veterinary Center article provides on how much to give, depending on the weight of your dog. When you do go buy pumpkin, look for cans with a 100% as the only ingredient. DO NOT GET PUMPKIN PIE FILLING!
