Same hide, different dogs, and two unique approaches to the search. 🔍🐾

Grommet and Nova are newer teams in my Beginner Nosework classes at Niagara K9, and it’s fascinating to watch how each dog approaches the very same hide in their own way.

Experience, confidence, environmental factors, and so much more can influence how a dog works. That’s what makes nosework so interesting — every dog has their own journey, and there’s always something new to learn by watching them work! Yes, I get a little excited when they find it! 😊

I’ll be opening up more Beginner Nosework classes as well as Continuing Odor Puzzles classes soon. Currently classes are held Wednesday evening evenings and Sundays.

Keep an eye out for upcoming classes!

A huge congratulations to our newest AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy graduates at Niagara K9 Training Center! 🎉🐶

We are so proud of all these puppies and their dedicated owners for successfully completing the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program!

Over the past several weeks, these teams have worked hard on building a strong foundation through basic obedience, good manners, socialization, confidence building, and responsible dog ownership.

The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program is about much more than teaching puppies to sit and stay. It's about developing communication, teamwork, and a positive relationship that will last a lifetime! ❤️

🌟 Congratulations to all our graduates! Your training journey is just beginning, and we can't wait to see what you accomplish next!

🐾 Real Obedience. Real Distractions. Real Results! 🐾

A reliable STAY means more than just holding a position when everything is quiet!

Check out our Niagara K9 Training Center obedience students putting their skills to the test! 💪🐕

✅ Multiple dogs holding their stays together

✅ People walking around and between the dogs

✅ Food scattered on the floor

✅ Toys tempting them from every direction

✅ Dogs learning to stay focused despite distractions!

Obedience isn't just about teaching commands. It's about teaching dogs to follow those commands even when the world around them gets exciting!

We believe in challenging our students, building confidence, improving impulse control, and teaching skills that carry over into everyday life.

And the best part? These dogs are learning to work calmly alongside other dogs while ignoring all kinds of distractions!

👏 Great job to our hardworking students and their handlers!

📣 READY TO TAKE YOUR DOG'S TRAINING TO THE NEXT LEVEL?

Our next obedience class sessions start November 5 & 7!

Whether you're just starting your training journey or ready to build more advanced skills, we have classes to help you and your dog succeed!

🎉🐾 Another Rally Obedience Title 🏆

A huge congratulations to Susan Mathews Pomichter and her Belgian Malinois, Butterscotch, on earning their Rally Advanced (RA) title! 🥇👏

Another title in the books for this hardworking team! Rally Obedience takes teamwork, focus, precision, and a strong connection between dog and handler, and Susan and Butterscotch continue to put in the work!

We love seeing our students step into the ring, challenge themselves, and reach new milestones!

Congratulations, Susan and Butterscotch! We are proud of you both and can't wait to see what's next! 💙🐾

🎉🐾 Congratulations to Linda Best and her Doberman, Madly! 🐾🎉

Another exciting accomplishment for our Niagara K9 Training Center competition obedience team!

Linda and Madly earned their FIRST qualifying leg in Novice Obedience, with a 4th place finish! 🏅👏

Madly is not always the easiest dog to work with, but Linda has been putting in the time, patience, and hard work to make this team successful!

Their goal is to work their way through Novice and into Open Obedience — where Madly gets to do what she really LOVES! ❤️🐕

Sometimes the journey isn't easy, but that makes every accomplishment along the way even more rewarding.

We are so proud of Linda and Madly! Keep up the hard work! One step closer to Open! 💪🐾

Congratulations from all of us at Niagara K9 Training Center! 🎉

🎉🐾 FIRST TRIAL, FIRST QUALIFYING LEG! 🐾🎉

A huge congratulations to Niagara K9 Training Center student Kim Altmann with Hamilton on earning her very first qualifying leg with a second place in Beginner Novice Competition Obedience at her very first trial! 🏆👏

There is something incredibly special about your first-ever A-Division competition dog. ❤️

Every little accomplishment is a first. Every challenge teaches you something new, and every success feels just a little sweeter. You're not just training your dog — you're learning the sport together, building a partnership, and creating memories that will stay with you forever.

That first time stepping into the competition ring takes courage, and walking out with your very first qualifying score makes it even more memorable!

Kim, we are so proud of you! This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a wonderful competition obedience journey. Enjoy every moment of it — you only get one first competition dog! 🐕❤️

Congratulations from all of us at Niagara K9 Training Center! 🎉🐾

From small to big! Lil Man, Aoife, and Freya all taking a turn on the same inaccessible hide during Sunday’s class at Niagara K9. 🐾
The hide was placed on the metal door hinge behind the door, so the dogs couldn’t get directly to the source. Since dogs sometimes rely on sight as well as their noses, it’s always fascinating to watch how they work through a hide when they can only rely on scent!
Melissa worked all three dogs, and I really enjoyed watching how each one approached the problem differently.
Great job Melissa, Lil Man, Aoife, and Freya! ❤️

🎉🏆 Another HUGE Congratulations to Niagara K9 Training Center student Chris and Mokie! 🏆🎉

What a fantastic weekend in the Rally ring at the Nickel City Cluster Dog Show!

🐾 Mokie was on fire in Rally Master! 🔥

🥉 99 points – 3rd Place

🥈 99 points – 2nd Place

🥈 99 points – 2nd Place

🥈 97 points – 2nd Place

🏆 And the icing on the cake… Mokie earned the Rally Master 5 (RM5) title! 🎉

Congratulations, Chris, on a wonderful weekend of accomplishments! Your hard work and dedication continue to pay off, and we are so proud to have you representing Niagara K9 Training Center!
