Loving all the new changes at The Barking Lot and this chalkboard I love it !

Even my own dogs had a blast at the end of classes! Jasper and Dolly got a chance to jump in and do some searching, and they loved every minute of it.

Jasper is already trialing and has been enjoying his Nosework journey for quite some time. Dolly is just beginning hers, with her ORT. Whether your goal is to compete or simply have fun with your dog, Nosework offers something for everyone.

🐾 Watching things come together is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.

Over the past few weeks, these teams have been working hard on threshold hides, multiple hides, and searches designed to simulate non-traditional vehicle challenges. More importantly, they’ve been learning how to read their dogs, trust what they’re seeing, and work as a team.

There is nothing better than watching handlers gain confidence, dogs become more independent, and those “aha!” moments happen. Beautiful work by everyone involved—keep trusting your dogs and enjoying the journey. ❤️

NEW NOSEWORK CLASSES STARTING AT THE BARKING LOT!

There’s something truly exciting about watching a dog “switch on” when they realize they’re allowed to use their nose—and Nosework brings that moment to life every single time.

If you’ve ever wanted to try something different with your dog… something fun, confidence-building, teamwork-focused, and incredibly rewarding… this is your chance!

Starting Saturday 6/27, we’re opening a new 4-week Nosework session:

11:30 AM – Intro/Beginner Nosework (4 weeks – $150)
12:30 PM – Intro/Beginner Nosework (4 weeks – $150)
1:30 PM – Intro/Beginner Nosework (4 weeks – $150)

And for those already loving scent work, we’ve got continuing challenges too:

2:30 PM – Continuing Odor Puzzles – Drop-ins welcome ($35)

3:30 PM – Continuing Odor Puzzles – Drop-ins welcome ($35)

Thursday evenings (regular weekly classes):

6:30 PM – Continuing Odor Puzzles - Drop-ins welcome – $35

7:30 PM – Continuing Nosework / Odor Puzzles (Drop-ins welcome – $35)

Heres one of the many teams that have been working really hard on these exterior searches at local parks in Hamburg. This is team Isa working this hide underneath the flap on the door k**b. It’s seems simple but yet complicated because you got lots of wind in this open space as well as distractions.

🐾 Ready to earn your dog's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title? 🐾

Join our 6-week CGC class designed for dogs that have completed basic obedience and are ready to take their skills into the real world.

Over the first 5 weeks, we'll focus on polishing manners, leash skills, engagement, and all of the exercises needed to prepare for the CGC test. In Week 6, dogs will take the official AKC Canine Good Citizen test administered by AKC Certified Evaluator Liz Lewis.

Starts: 7/12 at 4:15pm for 6 weeks

Congratulations to Team Summit, Team Murphy, Team Madly, Team Atlas and Team Brigid on all of your hard work and accomplishments this weekend! 🎉🐾

Summit competed in AKC, while Murphy, Madly, and Atlas took on CPE Scent Sport. For some of these teams, this was their very first trial ever, which makes their achievements even more special!

I am so proud of each and every one of you for stepping into the search area, trusting your dogs, and enjoying the journey together. It has been an honor to be a part of your nosework journey and to watch your confidence and teamwork grow.

There were also many placement ribbons earned along the way—that’s just the icing on the cake! 🏅🎊 But most importantly, you spent an amazing day doing something you love with your dogs, building your bond, making memories, and celebrating your partnership. That is what makes this sport so special. 💜🐾

Great job, everyone! Congratulations on your successes, and I can’t wait to see what you accomplish next! 🥳💜🐾

Today Jasper and I trialed in CPE Scent Sport at Premier. We haven’t competed in this organization for a year, so it was nice to give it a try again. We had so much fun, and it was great to be there with some of my students and friends and to see familiar faces.

It was a great trial. Thank you to everyone who helped make it run smoothly and efficiently, including the volunteers. Jasper earned placements in Level 2 Containers, Vehicles, and Interior, as well as Level 1 Exterior.

I’m so proud of how he did. Thank you, Jasper! 🥰🥳💙🐾
