All dogs currently working on odor even if its just one odor are welcome!

Wishing everyone heading into the Nosework trials this weekend the best of luck! Don’t forget to thank the volunteers.

More than anything, just remember to breathe, soak up the experience, and enjoy this special time with your best friend.

One little habit I always find so helpful is jotting down a few quick notes after each search. Taking just a minute to capture what happened right after you step out makes a huge difference—plus, it's a great way to help calm those trial nerves!

With school about to start back up, it’s time to get our fall routines ready! 🗓️📚

I’m currently working behind the scenes on the upcoming schedules for the North and South Towns, covering:

Nosework (All levels & Puppy)
Cross Training & Confidence Building
CGC & Obedience

These NW1 teams had to work through lots of environmental distractors during their exterior searches at today’s Mock Trial! 🐾

Great job, everyone! You worked hard, stayed focused, and handled the challenges like pros. 👏

Today’s Mock Trial was co-hosted with The Noble Beast—thank you to everyone who participated and made it such a great day!

Grommet and Reign are two newer dogs to Nosework and they did a great job in class learning that distractions don’t pay, but odor does!

We’re pairing food with odor so they learn that staying focused on the job is what pays off. Both dogs did a great job working through the distractions and staying focused on what they were there to do.

The handlers are learning too—watching their dogs while they search, learning to recognize what their dogs are telling them, and working on their leash handling skills.

Great job everyone! You’re all learning and improving together, and it’s so fun to watch. ❤️

Big distractions? No problem for these teams! 🐾
We took our searches into a busy storage room packed with novel smells, along with visual and environmental distractions. Handler focus for this exercise was all about excellent line management—stepping back, giving plenty of line, reading their dogs body language and giving the dogs the space and time they need to independently navigate the odor plume without interference.

Patience on the end of the leash pays off every single time. So proud of how thoughtful and focused these teams worked—fantastic job, everyone! ✨
