Watch my girl miss Dolly (11mos old) working this elevated hide.

Same hide, different dogs, and two unique approaches to the search. 🔍🐾

Grommet and Nova are newer teams in my Beginner Nosework classes at Niagara K9, and it’s fascinating to watch how each dog approaches the very same hide in their own way.

Experience, confidence, environmental factors, and so much more can influence how a dog works. That’s what makes nosework so interesting — every dog has their own journey, and there’s always something new to learn by watching them work! Yes, I get a little excited when they find it! 😊

I’ll be opening up more Beginner Nosework classes as well as Continuing Odor Puzzles classes soon. Keep an eye out for upcoming opportunities!

Check out Jasper, Willow, and Scooby learning to hunt independently in my Beginner Nosework class at Niagara K9!

They’re just starting their Nosework journey, learning to trust their noses, work things out on their own, and build confidence through searching. Creating a good foundation now gives them the skills they’ll continue to build on as they progress.

Great job, everyone! ❤️

Congratulations to Jessica and Charming on passing their CGC retest! 🎉

Sometimes we need a little extra practice, and that’s okay! Jessica came back with Charming, worked on the item they needed, and they got it done!

Great job, Jessica and Charming! I’m so happy you stuck with it and got to celebrate this accomplishment! ❤️

From small to big! Lil Man, Aoife, and Freya all taking a turn on the same inaccessible hide during Sunday’s class at Niagara K9. 🐾
The hide was placed on the metal door hinge behind the door, so the dogs couldn’t get directly to the source. Since dogs sometimes rely on sight as well as their noses, it’s always fascinating to watch how they work through a hide when they can only rely on scent!
Melissa worked all three dogs, and I really enjoyed watching how each one approached the problem differently.
Great job Melissa, Lil Man, Aoife, and Freya! ❤️

Who’s looking for some ORT practice for an upcoming trial, or just wants some extra container practice with their dog?

I’m looking at scheduling some practice opportunities in both the South Towns and North Towns!

Hamburg – The Barking Lot: Possibly a Thursday evening or Saturday

North Tonawanda – Niagara K9: Wednesday evening or Sunday

Tonawanda – 100 Ridge Rd: Weekday evenings or daytime options available

I’m still working out the details, but I’d love to get an idea of the interest in each area before scheduling dates.

If you’re interested, comment below or send me a message! Even if you’re not sure which day works best yet, let me know.

It’s always good to go back to basics!

A few of the dogs from Thursday night’s Nosework classes working their containers and checking every box. With dogs coming and going in the building, there were plenty of distractions to work through, too! Some are brand new, while others have a little more experience, but everyone did awesome!
