We want to give a big shout out and a huge thank you to West Greenwich Animal Hospital Dr. Amy Pratt DVM, Dr. Ralph Pratt DVM, for donating our new (new to us) electric, heated, surgery table along with a dental machine.

Vet Tech Gabby Lawton facilitated the donations through our long time shelter friend Kerri Passaretta.

The new table and dental machine will go to good use. Our in house Vet Dr. Ryan Loiselle DVM thanks you also.

The animals at the shelter will all have pearly white smiles for their adoption photos now! 😃 🐈 🐕

Adoption day for Chester!!

Chester came into the shelter on New Years Day, brought in by SPD. The Smithfield ACO had been on the lookout for him for 2-3 days prior and he gave everyone the slip.

We believe he was dumped off of Rt 7 where he was eventually caught.

Chester wasn’t the happiest being at the shelter.. But he soon came around to Hannah our kennel worker.

Chester began to to enjoy his morning romps through the shelter, visiting the ACO’s each morning.

Chester was seen on pet-finder by his new family and his adoption process began. His new family came down multiple times to meet him and each meet and greet went better and better.

Chester now calls Hyde Park Ma his new home, and will enjoy his daily runs with his new family.

Happy Tales Chester!

Another Happy Tales moment!

Storm has left the building and will now call Boston her home!

Storm was a surrender to the shelter when her owners moved. She was spayed, updated on vaccines and posted on Petfinder for adoption.

Less than a week, her new owner Lanandra fell in love with her big block head and amazing coloring.

A perfect meet and greet, and that’s all she wrote!

Best of luck Storm with your new home and new adventures in Beantown!

🐾 A Happy Ending for Rusty (Now Lucky!) 🐾
On October 29, 2025, a Johnston resident brought a large male Chow to Tri-Town Shelter after finding him running loose with a harness and leash attached—but no ID. We named him Rusty for obvious reasons ❤️
During his first month with us, Rusty had a hard time adjusting. He wouldn’t tolerate a collar and could only be walked with a leash attached to his harness. Walks were challenging—Rusty preferred to lead the way and wasn’t comfortable with too much handling, especially around his head.
But with time, patience, and care, Rusty slowly began to relax. Even so, he struggled to connect with prospective adopters, and after four months, he was still waiting for his perfect match.
Then, everything changed.
In walked Mr. Ben Ng, an experienced Chow owner with two dogs at home—Mochi and Teddy. The moment Rusty met Ben, he jumped up and gave him a kiss… and we knew something special was happening 💕
Ben later returned with Mochi and Teddy for a meet-and-greet, and it couldn’t have gone better. With their approval, Ben came back the very next day to adopt Rusty—now lovingly renamed Lucky 🍀
🐶 Update: Lucky is thriving in his new home! He’s enjoying walks, car rides, playtime in the yard with Mochi and Teddy, and even relaxing while watching TV with his new family.
Stories like Lucky’s remind us that sometimes the perfect match is just worth the wait. Thank you, Ben, for giving this deserving boy the life he always needed ❤️

Meet Hannah Proulx..

Hannah is our kennel worker at the Tri Town Shelter and also works for Congress of the Birds, as a rehabber and transporter.

Hannah has teamed up with babywarm.org and is working towards raising money to secure a professional incubator for all the littles she cares for until they can be safely transported to their respective clinics. Whether it be birds, small mammals, kittens, and domestic rabbits, Hannah handles them all.

Pay a visit to the posted baby warm.org link and donate if you can, any help would be greatly appreciated.

As always, share away to help this amazing rescuer.

I first got I to wildlife rehab when I volunteered as a transport volunteer, bringing sick, injured, and orphaned animals to the clinic to get care. After watching them get brought back to the brink over and over, I decided I wanted to become more involved and learn to provide care myself.
