Why we chose to stay independent 🐾

You may have noticed that many veterinary hospitals today are owned by large corporations.

At Gulf Coast Scratching Post Cat Hospital, we chose a different path.

We remain independently owned because it allows us to keep our focus exactly where it belongs — on cats and the people who love them.

Being independent means we can:

• Design our hospital specifically for feline comfort
• Take the time needed for thoughtful medical care
• Maintain long-term relationships with our clients
• Make medical recommendations based on our professional judgment and your cat’s needs

Most importantly, it allows us to keep veterinary medicine personal.

Every cat has a story, a personality, and a family who loves them. That’s why we built a hospital dedicated to caring for them the way they deserve.

Thank you for supporting independent veterinary medicine and trusting us with your cats. 🐱

I had some teefs taken out today. The post op blankets and pillow are purrfect and they gave me some medicine and I don’t feel my face so that’s good too. 4 ⭐️ from Tom 😺

Merry Christmas from Dr Norrell and the staff. We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with you for your cats care. We hope you all have a joyous and safe holiday season. Changes from our regular hours are
Wednesday December 24th closing at noon
December 25th closed
December 31st closing at noon
January 1st closed
Dr Norrell will be taking some time off during the holiday to spend with her daughter who is preparing to graduate (finally!!) with her PhD in neuroscience in May. Between the doctor’s schedule, her daughter’s final push for dissertation and the many miles between them, they don’t have a lot of time together so we appreciate your understanding in advance. Aside from the hours listed above, the clinic will remain open. If the doctor is off on a specific day and you need care, the Veterinary Emergency Clinic of Port Charlotte is open 24/7 until 8 am on January 6th.
Merry Christmas!
