Dahlia takes neighborhood security very seriously.

Some dogs watch for squirrels.
Some dogs watch for delivery drivers.

Dahlia? She has declared a one-dog surveillance operation against the neighbor’s metal cat.

Every walk requires a thorough inspection to make sure it hasn’t moved, changed positions, or started any suspicious criminal activity while she wasn’t looking. The pink ball stays firmly in her mouth because apparently even security professionals need emotional support equipment. 🎾

The funny part is that dogs are always paying attention. They notice the things we walk past every day without a second thought. A statue, a trash can, a parked car, a garden gnome—they all become part of a dog’s picture of the world.

The goal isn’t to convince them that strange things don’t exist. It’s to teach them how to calmly work through them and look to us for direction instead of making their own questionable decisions.

For now, the metal cat remains under investigation.

We’ll keep you updated if it does anything sketchy. 🐾😂

People often see a flashy focused heel and assume the dog was born doing it.

Bruno would like to remind everyone that he was not. 😂

That happy little prancing heel is the product of clear communication, motivation, consistency, and a lot of repetition. In this session, Mike is carrying Bruno’s favorite reinforcer under his arm, giving him a reason to stay engaged and focused while building precision and enthusiasm.

The goal isn’t just obedience. It’s creating a dog that genuinely enjoys working with their handler.

And if they happen to look a little fancy while doing it? Even better. 🐾✨

Training should be productive, but it should also be fun. Bruno clearly got that memo.

Clifford is blind.

When he first came to us, the world felt unpredictable and overwhelming. Without his eyesight, every sound, movement, and surprise around him carried a little extra weight. That uncertainty showed up as nervousness and reactivity.

So we didn’t focus on what Clifford couldn’t do.

We focused on building confidence in what he could do.

In this video, Mike is sitting with Clifford in a busy park while people, dogs, and distractions pass by. At one point, another dog even lunges in his direction. Clifford notices it…and chooses not to react.

Not because he was forced to ignore it.

Not because he magically stopped caring.

But because he has learned that he can trust his handler, trust his training, and trust himself.

Special needs dogs aren’t broken dogs. They simply experience the world differently. With patience, clear communication, and the right training, they can learn to navigate that world with confidence.

Watching a dog like Clifford sit calmly in situations that once felt overwhelming is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Good boy, Clifford. ❤️🐾
