We’re excited to announce our new partnership with South Dade Spotlight Magazine! 🎉🐾

Through this collaboration, South Dade Spotlight will help shine a light on our adoptable pets, share shelter news and updates, promote upcoming events, and help connect even more people with the lifesaving work happening every day at the Humane Society of Greater Miami.

Together, we hope to inspire more adoptions, increase awareness, and reach even more animal lovers throughout our community.

Sammy has spent 1,721 days waiting for someone to see just how special he is. ❤️‍🩹

As our longest-staying resident, Sammy has watched countless pets find homes while he continues to wait for his turn. While he may be a little shy at first, once he trusts you, you'll quickly discover a silly, loving, people-oriented dog who just wants to be close to his favorite humans!

Sammy is crate-trained, muzzle-trained, knows commands like sit and go-to-bed, walks great on leash, and loves learning new things. He's incredibly smart and eager to please, making him a wonderful companion for the right home.

Because shelter life has become overwhelming for him, Sammy would do best in a home without young children where he can feel safe and build confidence at his own pace. While he isn't currently pairable with other dogs in the shelter environment, we'd be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your pup(s) to ensure everyone is a good match before taking him home. Sammy may also do well in a home with cats. During his cat assessment, he appeared more fearful than interested in the cats, and we believe that with slow, proper introductions, he could peacefully coexist with a feline friend!

🐾 Puppies, pints, and one unforgettable day! 🍻❤️

On Sunday, May 31st, we celebrated the official launch of our Wags & Wellness Care Clinic, and what a celebration it was! From wagging tails and smiling faces to cold drinks, great food, amazing vendors, and a community that showed up in a BIG way, the day was everything we hoped for and more.

A special thank you to for joining us for our ribbon-cutting ceremony and helping us mark this exciting new chapter for pets and the people who love them.

And the stars of the show? The puppies, of course! 🐶✨ The excitement was so incredible that lines wrapped around the building just for a chance to spend a few minutes with our adorable adoptables. Even better, NINE puppies found loving homes that day!

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, sponsored, and supported this event. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped make this milestone truly special.

We’ve partnered with to support their Virtual Foster Program, a creative way to advocate for long-term shelter pets directly from your phone or computer.

By becoming a virtual foster, you’ll help give homeless pets more visibility and a better chance at getting adopted. You can currently advocate for pets like Juanita, Cali, Wrangler, Cash, Sammy, and so many more who are still waiting for their perfect match. 🐶🐱
