SAVE THE DATE Fundraiser for medical bills for Snow.. Right now her vet bill is approximately $1600 (bill can be seen upon request, I forgot to scan it) but when she is able to be spayed the bill will be $2000. Snow had a rare disease caused by a staph infection from a dirty wound. Her surgery took two hours and she is still on antibiotics.

News from Dr. Jen Animal Wellness and Healing Center
Violet has posterior lens luxation. This is the better one (vs anterior luxation). Less likely to cause inflammation and glaucoma. Just remain on the diclofenac. No other meds needed at this time.
Text message yesterday, they took pictures of V’s eyes on Thursday because the one cataract slipped, researched, found solution and let me know answers on Friday. This is why I hype up my vet, vet tech Sarah, and this practice.

Eyes are tricky so if your bunnies eyes change, schedule a vet visit. The cataract on Violets right eye has cracked and has slipped behind the lens. First bunny Dr. Jen has seen this in, second pet, the other a dog. Violet wants to know if she gets a First Place Ribbon 🙄. Eye pressure good in one eye, ok in the other. Left eye cataract has changed and may also detach. Eyedrops, some research and watch for glaucoma.

We are binkying on into Midwest BunFest 2026 (Sunday, October 25th!) with the theme:

Theme description:

Bunnies binky when they feel joy. A bunny binky involves a big hop into the air, a twirling of the body, and enthusiastic kicking of the legs. It’s often followed by zoomies and head shakies - these are just some of the adorable things a happy, joyful bunny does.

Midwest BunFest’s 2026 theme is all about the joy of rabbits. Many rescued rabbits start out in rough shape, only to open up and relax once they know they are safe and around humans they can trust. This human cares and provides everything needed for the rabbit to thrive. Then, it happens: the binky!

Space to run and play - yes!
A place to be themselves - check!
Somewhere they are loved - hooray!
A home to be silly and sassy - woo hoo!

These resilient bunnies “binky on” and move beyond their past into the loving present moment, displaying their dance of utter joy! And we get the honor of witnessing it!

We can learn so much from these amazing animals. Where can you follow the bunny’s lead and binky on? Rabbits teach us to be silly, have fun, be present, and so much more. We just have to watch and learn.

And because bunnies want to make our lives exciting… Violet goes in to see Dr. Jen Animal Wellness and Healing Center on Thursday. Violet became completely blind two years ago from E.C, both eyes covered with milky white cataracts. You can see in the first picture her white eye. That was taken July 20th. The second picture has no cataract. That was taken August 19th. Any time you have a change in an eye a vet visit is recommended. Violet will get her eye examined and the eye pressure tested. So far you have a vet, vet tech, and vet assistant (me) all going WTH?!

Snow, Snowy, Snowbelle, Snowfall after her very early vet tech appointment today. Antibiotics for another one to two weeks but the girl is healing well!
