The worst feeling in the world is going to feed and medicate one of your babies only to find they have passed away.
Alice, aka Alice the Outlaw was originally from California and had her own Instragram. She was quite famous, and moved to Las Vegas with her loving owner who tragically passed away from cancer.
Alice was brought to the shelter in the hopes of being given the chance for another loving home, which she found - with me. Alice bonded with me immediately and I fell in love with her. Alice's story touched my heart, and I felt a closeness to her and her previous owner. I was sent photos of Alice and her owner Tanya, and I gave Alice all the love she was used to and she thrived.
Alice was a happy little girl. She loved to bite my knees for attention, and steal her little mini sneaker toys and hide them. She had her teddy bear blanket to keep her company at night, and loved being chased around the room.
She soon developed insulinoma, and began enjoying soupy laced with prednisone in the mornings and evenings, which she looked forward to. Just recently it was discovered that Alice had a slow heartbeat and was put on heart meds.
I prepared Alice's soupy this morning as I always do, but Alice had passed this morning between the hours of 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. It appears her heart finally gave out.
Alice was a very special ferret. She was loved by someone who was very special, who loved her with all her heart, and I made the commitment to love her just as much.
Dook in peace, sweet Alice, and go to your mommy Tanya in heaven and tell her that I love you both.
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right
I hope you had the time of your life.
