Look at Gorgonzola now!🧡

We previously shared photos of Gorgonzola when he first arrived at our shelter with a mouth full of severe stomatitis. He was covered in dirt and f***s and clearly hadn’t had the care he deserved. And yet, through it all, this sweet boy remained gentle, trusting, and loving🥺

Fast-forward to today… WOW! 😻✨

After having all of his teeth extracted and a deep clean/shave, Gorgonzola is thriving in his foster home! He’s primarily enjoying a soft-food diet, and he is feeling... and looking... SO much better. His personality is really starting to shine!🥰

His foster mom calls him “Gonzo,” and Gonzo is proving to be quite the social guy. He’s showing interest in making friends with his foster sisters ~ two cats AND a dog! 🐱🐱🐶 He’s playful, loves being wherever the people are, and is clearly enjoying this new chapter of his life.

Now, Gonzo is ready for the best chapter of all: a forever home of his own. 🏡❤️

After everything this handsome boy has been through, he deserves a family who will love him as much as he loves them.

Help Send Our Humane Officers To Continuing Education 🐾📚

Our Humane Police Officers do arguably some of the most difficult and important work in our community — investigating animal cruelty and neglect, responding to reports of abuse and neglect, and advocating for animals who have no voice of their own.

And they do this as volunteers, for free. They do this in addition to their full time jobs, because they care fiercely about animals.

Our officers are the ONLY ones in Westmoreland County responding to humane calls for ALL animals.

They've responded to calls involving dogs, cats, horses, kangaroos, ducks, donkeys, lizards, pigs, exotic birds, fish, turtles, deer, and cows... To name a few.

Our Humane Officer Program receives NO government funding. 😢

The entire program is funded through the generosity of people in our community who believe that animals deserve to be protected.

That means expenses like continuing education, specialized training, certifications, travel, and other costs associated with keeping our officers educated and prepared are made possible by donations from people like you.🫵🏼

We are asking our community to help us send our volunteer Humane Police Officers to continuing education opportunities so they can stay up-to-date on animal cruelty laws so they can continue to better our community and help the local animals in need.

Every donation — big or small — helps us continue this important work. 🐾
