What a jam packed August we have had full of firsts and new accomplishments!
We started off the month with a double header eventing weekend, first at the beautiful Azrael Acres with Cat and Blaze nailing their dressage test to score a 29 and then putting in two excellent jumping phases to take home the win! Warren also took the trip to Azrael, putting in three solid phases and coming home in 6th place in a big division.
The next day we headed to Treasure Hill Farm for the second show of their three phase series. Chantel competed in her first ever horse trial on her mare, Lacey, and had three good phases in the Elementary. Avocet did a beautiful job piloting Nirvana and the pair came home with a ton of education from the day.
We attended the Wednesday dressage schooling show at Fox Ledge Farm where Makaela and her horse, Daily, did their first ever show together and came home with a 3rd and 4th place in Intro A and B. Meg and Scarlet also competed in their first show entirely at Training level and knocked it out of the park, scoring in the upper 60s in both of their tests and winning both of their classes!
The dressage trend continued that weekend to Mystic Valley Hunt Club, Inc. for their rated Dressage by the Sea show. Meg and Scarlet did their first ever rated dressage show, taking home 5th place in both of their Training level classes after two very respectable tests. Pal helped me make some progress towards my USDF Bronze Medal, putting in two really solid tests at First Level and placing 3rd and 6th.
Last but not least, we finished out the month back at Treasure Hill, where Chantel and Lacey finished on their dressage score in 3rd place in a big division and Nora piloted Blaze to 1st place, leading their large division from start to finish, in Nora’s first ever event on Blaze.
Congratulations to everybody for all of their accomplishments so far this season; I am so proud of each and every one of you! Looking forward to finishing the year strong with a fun fall season 🐴
