🚨We are still looking for a foster or forever home for D***y! ❤️

D***y is still waiting for someone to give him a chance. We would love nothing more than to get this 10-year-old boy out of the shelter and into a loving home where he can get all the attention he deserves.

If you or someone you know might be able to foster or adopt D***y, please reach out to us as soon as possible! Even if you can’t take him in yourself, sharing his story could help us find the right person for him.

📩 Please message us directly or email [email protected] if you can help.

“His eyes looked so sad on Petfinder. I couldn’t leave him there.” That’s what a kind woman from Plainville said when she saw the first photo of Suede above. On September 15, she brought him home.

Suede waited nearly six years for her. Abandoned and living outside, he came to us needing significant medical care, including the removal of most of his teeth. He couldn’t live with other cats, so our staff made room for him wherever they could, and he became best friends with some of our staff and volunteers while waiting for the right person to find his picture.

Those sad eyes aren’t sad anymore.

His new mom says Suede follows her from room to room, races up and down the stairs, naps in patches of sunshine, and purrs her awake every morning. Two nights ago, he slept in her bed for the first time.

You made this ending possible. Your gifts paid for his surgery and kept him warm, fed, and loved through nearly six years of waiting. The Animal Haven receives no government funding, so every animal we care for is here because of donors like you.
And when Suede went home, he made room for the next animal who needs us.

Will you help us be there for the next one? Our donation link is in the first comment.

Introducing Dune, a 3-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a gentle heart and so much life left to discover. 💙

Dune didn’t have the start he deserved. He spent most of his life indoors, and after his owner became seriously ill and passed away, Dune was left in the care of another owner who was also extremely ill. Before coming to us, it had been a long time since Dune had even been outside.

Now, Dune is safe with us—and experiencing so many firsts. He may be uncertain when something is new, but with a little time and encouragement, he quickly finds his confidence. He already loves walks, playing fetch, and meeting new dog friends. Dune is very dog-friendly, and we believe he would do best in a home with another dog.
Because he is still learning about the world, Dune would thrive in a quieter neighborhood with an active couple or family. He needs regular exercise, including walks and playtime, along with patient adopters who can help him continue building confidence through routine, encouragement, and plenty of love.

Dune is incredibly sweet, cuddly, and ready for the loving forever home he has always deserved. Could you be the one to show him how wonderful life can be?
Apply to adopt Dune on our website OR come visit him at our next open house on Saturday (10/17) from 1-3pm

Meet Jujubes! 🐾💕

Just a little over seven years old, Jujubes is a sweet girl who loves attention and affection. She’ll happily come over to say hello, and once she gets comfortable, don’t be surprised if she crawls right into your lap for some extra love. ❤️

When Jujubes first came to us, she had some inflammation in her sinuses, but she has since been treated and is doing incredibly well! Going forward, she would benefit from a clean home environment and use of air filters, to help keep her comfortable and feeling her best.

Jujubes is an affectionate, easy-to-love girl who would be so happy to trade shelter life for a cozy home and a lap of her very own. And with those gorgeous green eyes, she’s pretty hard to resist!

Come meet Jujubes at our Open House tomorrow, Sunday, October 11, from 1–3 PM and apply to adopt her here: https://loom.ly/ficQ4U4.

Meet Benny, an adorable 11-year-old Cavapoo.
After his owner became seriously ill, Benny spent two months at a boarding facility before he was surrendered to The Animal Haven.

When he arrived, Benny was confused, and understandably scared, and his fur was extremely matted. He received the veterinary care and grooming he needed. We’re happy to report that Benny is healthy! A heartfelt thank you to our friends at Pawtero🐾 for grooming Benny, making him so much more comfortable, and taking such wonderful care of him.
Despite all the stress and confusion he has experienced, Benny is a very sweet boy who loves attention and his daily walks. His ideal home would be with someone who enjoys a slower lifestyle and can spend plenty of time with him. In return, Benny will happily soak up every bit of love and return it tenfold.
Could Benny be the companion you’ve been looking for? Please consider giving this gentle senior the loving, permanent home he deserves. Apply to adopt Benny on our website or come meet him at our next open house this coming Sunday, 10/11, from 1 to 3 p.m.
