Farm School History, week 5! We are wrapping up our session on Paleolithic times in Florida and preparing our artifacts for our museum next week. We are also looking forward to experiencing some examples of foods this "hunt and gather" culture may have encountered.

It's hard to believe we are wrapping up our first session of Farm School Ecology!🌿
Next week is our last week of session 1 and we hope to see you for session 2, when students will design games incorporating everything we have learned about Florida wetlands, invasives, biodiversity, and human impact.

My girls just finished this etiquette class with Scribes and Scholars, and it was such a rewarding experience!
Every class they came home eager to share details, like how to include others in conversation and facilitate introductions, as well as netiquette and emailing. I really appreciated the modern take on etiquette and feel like it was very appropriate for students today. I can't forget to mention that they got fed every week as well. Nothing beats a class with food!
This was a great class and I highly recommend! I need to sign my youngest up next 😁

Farm School ecology students learned about the interconnectedness and relationships of Florida flora and fauna. Our classrooms in the forest are the perfect place for "alligator hole" charades and Ecology Jenga!

What are workshops? Think... "extracurricular clubs"! Students get to choose new workshops every session and dive deep into an activity they love or try something brand new. Workshops can be teacher led or co-led by students with a strong vision. Have a passion or unique skill set? Talk to us about workshops! 🐎🎨🪡🎭♟️

Forest School, week 2!
We began The Wild Robot, and dove right into observing as Roz does, to learn about the animals on the island, and studying different homes that animals build, and thinking through our Survival Instincts in case of a wilderness emergency. Everyone worked hard and made great connections to our novel study!

Please be sure to read/ listen to chapters 19- 37 for next week!

Farm School ecology students are continuing our in-depth look at wetlands. Building models, scavenger hunts, and food-web simulations!
We stayed safe and dry during the afternoon storm, and even snuck in some workshop time.

A special thank you to the parents for being so flexible at pickup time, as we dodged lightning and rain!
