I have gotten to work with several gaited horses including mountain horses. They are absolutely fabulous partners! They are so sweet and smart I would 100% own one. So trainable and an amazing breed to work with! Someone go adopt this girl

Looking for a fun-sized adventure partner? Meet Ulu! 🐴💛

This 14.1hh Kentucky Mountain Horse mare has a big personality and a whole lot of try! Ulu loves having a job, whether she’s exploring the trails, navigating obstacles, or showing off her lovely canter. She’s brave, personable, and thrives on building a bond with her person!

Ulu is still developing her gait after time off and will need an adopter experienced with gaited horses to help her reach her full potential. She’s ready to find someone who will keep her mind engaged and enjoy all the adventures ahead!

Could Ulu be your next partner? Learn more and inquire at defhr.org/horses/under-ulus-umbrella 🏡

All good riders and trainers are taught somewhere. Mary Ann (placed 2nd) was my first ever riding instructor. It’s thanks to her (along with many others) who started my lifelong passion for horses and taught me early on how to put the horse first as well as understand their language and ride effectively. I learned grit and determination from the long hard lessons at the barn. She truly helped started it all and shaped part of my training and riding philosophy! Although I don’t barrel race anymore this is such a cool and amazing accomplishment to see one of my previous instructors achieve!

Fall is my favorite season because the leaves start to turn pretty colors, the weather cools down, and the bugs start to go away. Fall is the perfect time to work horses and it’s the perfect time to get some cute pictures! I’m in love with this one of me and Fallon. Thank you Micaela | Maryland Photographer for capturing this moment!

If you watch closely you can spot Echo! (She’s the second one in the video) I’m a proud college mom. She is used for their hunt seat and western teams. Great job to all their riders and horses!
