Serena is from NC & her birthday is 5/04/24. She hasn’t told us much else. Serena is tiny but defends treats & food from her foster sister. She can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but adjusts quickly with a hug or belly rub. She’ll happily stick by your side and shower you with puppy kisses. She loves tug of war & is a good playmate. Serena is great on a leash but she makes it a game to get it on. You’ll smile at her going in circles or dropping on her back as if to say OK, “put the leash on me” I tried a double leash on walks and she was a trooper, patient with her 16 pound foster sister. She does great going up steps we are mastering down steps with treats. Serena is a darling, sweet pup. She has been a real joy to foster & will bring lots of love, giggles & snuggles to your home.

Albus is a sweet, compact little guy with a big heart and an even bigger love for cuddles. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, he’ll happily stick by your side and shower you with affection.

Since being in foster care, Albus has discovered the joy of toys and especially loves a good game of tug-of-war with other dogs. He’s very respectful of canine social cues, always ready to play when invited, but understanding when another dog prefers their space.

Albus is crate trained and does well when crated, patiently holding his potty until he’s let out.

Albus has not yet been introduced to cats or children, so his behavior around them is unknown.

Most people dont know about this but this is one vaccine you definitely want your dog to get. All HOH dogs and puppies receive this with their regular vaccines.

☀️🐶 Summer Means Increased Risk for Leptospirosis 🐶☀️

As the weather gets warmer and dogs spend more time outdoors, we start seeing increased concern for a serious disease called Leptospirosis — and it’s important because it can affect BOTH dogs and humans.

🦠 What is Leptospirosis?
Lepto is a bacterial infection spread primarily through wildlife urine contaminating water, mud, grass, puddles, soil, and outdoor surfaces.

Common wildlife carriers include:
🐀 Rodents
🦝 Raccoons
🦌 Deer
🐿️ Other wild animals

Dogs can become infected simply by:
💧 Drinking from puddles or standing water
🌿 Walking through contaminated grass or mud
🐾 Contact with infected urine or soil

⚠️ Why is Lepto serious?
Leptospirosis can cause severe illness involving:
• Kidney failure
• Liver disease
• Fever
• Vomiting/diarrhea
• Lethargy
• Bleeding disorders
• In severe cases, death

And importantly — it is considered a zoonotic disease, meaning humans can potentially become infected as well.

💉 The good news?
Leptospirosis is PREVENTABLE with vaccination.

The Lepto vaccine is now considered an important lifestyle vaccine for many dogs, especially those who:
✔️ Go hiking or camping
✔️ Visit parks or trails
✔️ Spend time outdoors
✔️ Live near wildlife
✔️ Go boarding or daycare
✔️ Walk through puddles (which… is basically every dog 😅)

🐶 Even suburban and urban dogs can be exposed — we diagnose Lepto far more commonly than many owners realize.

🩺 Prevention Tips:
✔️ Vaccinate annually as recommended
✔️ Avoid stagnant water when possible
✔️ Control rodent exposure around the home
✔️ Contact your veterinarian if your dog develops vomiting, lethargy, fever, or increased thirst/urination

Meet Walnut! He hails from Mississippi ❤️

Walnut is a 15-week-old black lab and he is, quite simply, the goodest boy He's the epitome of a good ol' boy Labrador; happy, chill, and playful, with that sweet easygoing energy labs are famous for.

He LOVES his toys (he'll even play with his treats before eating them, it's adorable), is learning the ropes of leash walking, and has two favorite playmates in his foster home: his rough-and-tumble buddy Matthew, and a kitten named Banana who he absolutely adores.

Walnut has been socialized with kids, adults, cats and kittens, and other dogs and he's done beautifully with all of them. He's a confident, friendly little guy who's ready to grow up alongside his forever family.

Currently 25lbs and estimated 60-70lbs full grown. If you're looking for a happy-go-lucky lab to fill your home with love (and chewed-up toys), Walnut is your guy.
