Thank you for visiting my page- Valkyrie Eventing is named after my absolute favorite mare of all time, Little Valkyrie, who I competed with for over 10 years. I am Claudia Romeo and I have over 20 years experience working with a wide variety of horses and have competed through the Preliminary level of eventing. I particularly love working with Thoroughbreds directly from the track as they transit

ion to their next careers but have a soft spot for any horse willing to show up for work every day. As a graduate H-A of the USPC I am comfortable teaching students of a variety of experience levels and has a strong emphasis on classically correct position. I have also worked as a veterinary technician with board certified veterinarians and therefore bring a horse-centered approach to training that considers all factors of a horse's care and wellbeing. I only take on a few clients at a time to ensure that each horse and rider can get the attention that they deserve.

Whew, what a year! Seakyr went from lunging with a rider on to foxhunting like an old pro and jumping small courses, Magnific Kirkby learned how to be a domesticated boy and was started under saddle, last but not least Free Fall (Fi) was just incredible moving up to Training and placing in the ribbons her second time out. So many other fun moments in this video and I am so lucky to be surrounded by horses who come out eager to learn and professionals that care and support me.

Kyrie remembers her days doing circles in the dark this time of year! What are you working on with your horse after dark? Fi built an incredible amount of power this year but it came with way too much tension so we are back to the walk and trot to rebuild muscle and conditioned responses so that when we build the power back in it’ll be with more relaxation. It’s been a great reminder that if you’re struggling with something at the trot or canter that it probably exists when the gait is slower and it’s much easier to work on it there!

Magnific Kirkby is a 4yo Cleveland Bay/TB cross gelding who would love to be under the tree in your barn this year! He has been a delight to bring along and shows incredible promise as an eventer. Kirby would be the ideal horse for a professional or very capable amateur in a professional program to develop over the winter and bring out next year. He has been brought along slowly and correctly allowing his 17.0 hand frame time to grow and mature. Excellent ground manners, would love to be your best friend. Trailers, good for farrier, loves to be loved on. UTD on everything. Very quality young horse with a bright future in whatever you’d like to do! Low ✋starting with a 2️⃣

Oh this girl is looking and feeling like the real deal! I saw a picture of her in a Facebook comment and something in my head just said buy her… boy am I happy I took the risk. Three years ago she was hopping around her first jumps, now powering around a course that posed some serious challenges and caught out more experienced horses!
