Happy Hounds Scheduling Update 🐾

Please keep these upcoming out-of-office dates in mind when planning your pet’s care:

🎄 December 9–14, 2026 — Family Christmas trip
🌴 January 21–31, 2027 — Vacation

Pet-care services will be unavailable during these dates. All Christmas reservations already scheduled with me will be cared for as planned. ❤️

Happy Hounds is also fully booked for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thank you to everyone who booked holiday care!

I appreciate your understanding and continued support. It’s a privilege to care for your pets and give you peace of mind while you’re away.

Today marks a bittersweet milestone at Happy Hounds as I wrap up five wonderful years of drop-in visits with Finley, Birdie, and Ziva. 🐾💙

These beautiful girls have been such a special part of my schedule—and my heart. I’ll miss seeing their sweet faces, but I’m so happy for their mom, Shelby, who is now working from home and gets to spend her days with her babies!

Shelby, thank you for supporting my small business and trusting me with your girls over the past five years. Being welcomed into your home and chosen to care for them has meant so much to me.

The bonds built through this work last long beyond the visits. Finley, Birdie, and Ziva will always be part of the Happy Hounds family. 💕

Fall has officially arrived, and Happy Hounds is ready for it! 🐾🧡

Bring on the cooler walks, crunchy leaves, pumpkin everything, and all the happy pups soaking up this beautiful season.

I’m beyond thankful for every furry face I get to care for and for all of the amazing families who trust Happy Hounds with their pets. It truly means more than you know.

I’m so excited to share that Happy Hounds Dog Walking & Pet Sitting was featured in Guide to South Carolina following our 2026 Best of South Carolina Award! 🏆🐶

Seeing my little business recognized like this is something I’m incredibly proud of. Happy Hounds has always been about so much more than walking dogs or stopping by to feed a kitty. It’s about building relationships, earning trust, and caring for every pet as if they were my own.

As a solo business owner, I put my heart into what I do every single day — the early mornings, busy weekends, holidays, long days, countless miles, puppy kisses, kitty cuddles and everything in between. 🐾❤️

Ten years ago, I came to Charleston with a dream, a love for animals, and absolutely no idea where this journey would take me. I didn’t know many people. I didn’t have connections. I didn’t have some huge business handed to me. What I did have was passion, determination, and a heart that knew this was what I was meant to do.

What people don’t always see behind the scenes is what it truly takes to build a business like this from the ground up. The long days. The stress. The tears. The fear of failing. The constant pressure. Working seven days a week. Being on call all the time. Rearranging your entire life around everyone else’s schedules and needs. Missing holidays, personal time, sleep, and putting your clients and their pets first no matter what is going on in your own life.

There were days I questioned myself. Days I was exhausted mentally and physically. Days I cried from the stress and overwhelming responsibility that comes with running a business completely on your own. But no matter how hard it got, I kept pushing. I kept believing in myself and in this dream.

Over the years, Happy Hounds became so much more than just a business. It became my purpose, my passion, and something I have poured my whole heart and soul into every single day. Every walk, every overnight, every drop-in, every wedding, every early morning and late night… I gave it my all because I truly love what I do.

This journey has made me stronger than I ever imagined. It taught me independence, resilience, confidence, and showed me what I’m capable of as a woman and as a business owner. I built this through hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and pure love for animals.

To every single client who trusted me with your pets, supported my business, referred me, voted for me, encouraged me, and stood beside me through this journey… thank you from the bottom of my heart. You helped make my dream become reality.

And after all these years, despite the sacrifices and nonstop hustle, I honestly wouldn’t change it for the world. I get to wake up every day doing something I truly love and adore. Caring for animals fills my heart in a way I can’t even explain, and no matter what challenges come my way, I will never let anyone or anything take me away from this dream I worked so hard to build.
