I was on the phone with my friend Andrew Foley when I seen this female in her enclosure moving strangely and looking unusually large from across the room.I had recently put a male with her to breed and as you can see she attempted to eat him. Well she did eat him, but I managed to get her to regurgitate him. Pulling up on her rostral scale was effective and when he got some traction he crawled out quickly. While cannibalism isn't super common with hognose it's not rare either. It's important to keep an eye on them when first pairing and in my next video I will share tips to prevent situations like this. Luckily this guy was saved in time and immediately after this incident he was named Jonah and he is alive and doing well today. Hog knows
