The Distinguished Dog was founded by Kelly Heskett, KPA-CTP, in 2016. The Distinguished Dog utilizes a unique when training dogs using positive reinforcement methods, Kelly's approach gets in front of the behavior/issue where she is able to teach the dog how to behave appropriately, rather then correcting inappropriate behaviors when they occur. Kelly graduated with excellence from the Karen Pryo

r Training Academy in 2015. Kelly earned her Better Vet Visits certification through Karen Prior in 2016 and became Fear Free certified in 2019. Kelly and her husband are adovates in the animal welfare community. In addition to their 3 rescued dogs, they foster and volunteer with a local non-profite animal rescue, Finding Shelter Animal Rescue. In addition, Kelly provides training assistance the dogs within this rescue.
