10 horses and eleven kids went to a horse show…. You finish the rest 🤣

Our favorite show of the year means summer is coming to an end, but the Harmony Free Fair is always one for the books! Money classes, some great costumes, extra tag alongs, and a side of chaos.

My favorite part of these days is it’s a no pressure show- now that doesn’t mean they take the pressure off themselves, BUT when their horses are, well… resorting to their natural instincts (flight risks), they handle it all with a good pat, and another ride.

So, so proud of these riders. So grateful for their families. So blessed that spending 12 hours together on a holiday is their idea of a good time 😉

What a day to be their trainer 👏🏻 🥇

Windsor has become one of our FAVORITE show days. Grateful for New England Jumpers Association for putting on a seamless show today.

The PROGRESS in these two in a years time is more than I could have hoped for. Shout out to Macyn Wallace for being my catch rider on Frankie today.

Well done baby horse. I can’t wait to see where she’s at a year from now with another hundred pounds and 100 more rides in. Rescue ➡️ Ribbons 🥳

📷 Flashback to when our first surprise baby horse was a baby! At a whopping two years old, after being placed once and not working out, I vividly remember telling the next horse shopper do whatever she wanted with him. I loved him. She probably thought I was crazy, but she bought him. Guess she was crazy too 😅

Fast forward to today, and a big FIVE YEAR OLD walked back into our barn for their lesson and it felt like a full circle moment. It’s always such a privilege to have what could have been a quick customer turn into a long term client- for their kids with four and TWO legs! We can’t wait to see what this session has in store for them.

🗓️ Fall Session one lessons are ON this week! Whether it’s green horses, new or old riders, tiny tots or big kids (adults) we are so excited to see you.

🚧 Construction is still happening. Please be observant of equipment. The best parking spot is next to the horse trailers.

Yesterday was our final show for our beginner team!

We are so proud of the progress this group has made this summer in their confidence, their progress in show prep and their accountability for their horses.

Grateful to their parents who are their biggest supporters, and can’t wait to work through this school year in preparation for 2027!

Shout out to Central Maine Septic for being a sponsor this year!

Congratulations to all of our riders for a successful season! 🥇

For all of our weekly lesson students looking for jump lesson opportunities, here is your tentative schedule.

🐴 Students will learn how to measure and count strides, set up jumps, and learn courses. The first lesson is required in order to attend any following sessions.

🗓️ All dates will require both sessions to be full to run.

More classes will be offered as classes fill.

What a day! Some ☔️ , some 🌞, and a lot of jumps!

Always glad to get a little jump excursion in!

Chili and Hannah came home with TWO 🥈🥈in huge classes!

Chicago and Macyn came home with plenty of things to work on, a personality of the day award, and perhaps a fast lane pass to the glue factory (kidding, kidding) 😅

Any time we go out it’s celebrating the little wins and setting new goals to make us better horse people regardless of the ribbons- and our horses, well, as predictable as possible. Always grateful to see our riders grow.

We started the season as cross rails and are finishing up at the .80m 👏🏻

(Did I get any actual jump photos? No. I was too busy holding my breath every round. Better luck next time)

Camp.

I don’t mean to be too sentimental when I say this (okay, maybe a little) but my love for camp far surpasses anything that I could ever put into words.

You see, camps have shaped my life.

I don’t remember the nitty gritty details of my first camp. But I do remember countless hours at the barn. My very first barn, the one that we had passed so many times as a kid that I’m sure I begged and pleaded to stop at a million times. I remember my first camp that lead to riding lessons, and the riding lessons that lead me to a second barn- because at the first barn, we couldn’t ride in the winter.

My lesson hours turned into days, my days turned into nights full of laughter and hay loft sleep overs and before I knew it, I was helping at their summer camps instead of being the camper. I met my best friend (still as an adult!) at this barn. I spent most of my childhood, from 11 on there, even when I had was lucky enough to have a barn at home!

My heart horse came home to my parents (psssst. The old guy is still at our barn now 💜) and suddenly I had two extra stalls to fill, so I filled them. And THEN, I had horses to share! So we started CAMPS. I held my first CAMP after graduating high school.

The following my year, I spent a summer at an all girls summer CAMP as a camp counselor/ riding instructor.

And as my career with horses expanded, we continued to have CAMP.

FARM CAMP saved my sanity, and many others during Covid.

And soon enough HORSE CAMPS returned in full swing. Every single one of them selling out, and then some.

IN 2024 I was hired to be the head of a riding department at an all girls Summer CAMP, and life felt like it had come full circle. I love that CAMP too. It is its own kind of special.

But I knew our barn still needed camps. I needed camps. So with some helping hands, some really amazing camp counselors and some crazy few weeks, we’ve continued to run camps, making this THIRTEEN SUMMERS.

I promise you, that at the end of the week, we are all as tired as your camper. But there is nothing more that fills my soul than spending time with our horses, in our ever changing and growing barn, with your children. There is no greater privilege in the world than being the CAMP where your kids are.

I hope they look back someday, and even if horses aren’t their passion in life, they remember that little old horse CAMP full of fun and laughter and friends (horses too!). Thank you for trusting us with your most special humans, and making the LAST CAMP OF 2026 pretty magical!

If you’ve made it this far, Fall Session lesson Schedule will be in your inbox tomorrow 😅
